The problem with that is the huge amount of updates the game gets.
The alpha used to get at least one update every day and we already had 7 updates just since the start of the pre-beta.

The pirated versions of the alpha floating around were all super outdated, so it was not uncommon to see people asking/complaining about things that were fixed weeks ago.

Yeah, don't get too attached to your savegames. The wipe from alpha to beta was announced earlier, and there aren't supposed to be any more save-breaking changes (pic related), but it's still a possibility.
And even without that, I've already ruined my first pre-beta save. It's not completely unfixable, but it would require enough grinding to get out that I just gave up and started a new game instead.

From what I saw from the alpha there was a lot of content already there and adding another year of development on top of that is going to be insane. If you check the changelog you'll see there's a steady pace of additions constantly - ylvapedia.wiki/wiki/Elin:Changelog

For modding it seems to be easier and include Steam Workshop integration. But how many mods are made will depend on how big the game and the modding community gets. There's some Japanese info and guidesp at ylvapedia.wiki/wiki/Elin:Modding

Overall, I'd say things are looking very positive.

The gravestones are just furniture items that you can find in a special map, even if you aren't a backer you should be able to obtain them, you just won't find one with your name written on it.

Elona Plus is kind of taboo to talk about it in Japanese Elona BBS (Ano also asks people not to) because it tends to attract schizo flamewars, but most players seem indifferent about it. It definitely has Japanese players, though, and most of the in-game art and sounds were provided by them.

Housing is a lot better since you aren't forced to use specific deeds for farms/museums etc. since it all uses policy system
Farming definitely Elin, the crops having extra bonuses you can raise feels great
Cooking is a lot better since it's not RNG and there's multiple choices for some like meat+spice+egg so you can raise stats/potentials a lot more
Pets feel pretty basic right now but I may be missing something. The only real advantage I can see is the symbiosis skill and some flavor stuff like not having more than 2? god pets in party at same time

For the negatives there's barely any non-random dungeons, invokes on equipment aren't in yet, some monsters aren't in, gods are not finished (I think only god pets are in but none of the other rewards). That's most stuff off the top of my head

You are kinda overreacting. Backer gods required a creator wish, and there are only like 15 of those in total in the whole Kickstarter, and there are other attractive options like new game mechanics to spend the wishes on.

The three known backer gods all cater to archetypes that the OG seven don't (support, spellblade and barbarian). Noa's stated that Yevan of Strife should be done in a few days, so I'll be checking him out.

There are random spawning ones, there's just barely any static ones. From what I remember from kickstarter they will be implemented in EA or release.

To summarize what everyone else has said, 5 more gods.

2 of them, Elin and Yaksha, have been previously mentioned in other places (like the Ylva Museum) and can also be seen here in an official drawing (https://x.com/elocat/status/1664226635741270016).).

The other 3 are backer gods (but imho also very appropriate ones that fit well into the world of Ylva and aren't too... OC-y or whatever): Kizuami, Horome, and Yevan. And also, they enable certain playstyles and make a wider variety of builds more viable. :)

The game's been extremely fun. Obviously it's in beta right now, and as Noa just emphasized in an update a couple minutes ago, it's beta for the early access version of Elin even (and not the full release Elin). He has plans for things to be added to the game in the future and in post-EA, and it'll be in EA for at least the next few years. So lots of updates, patches, fixes, so it'll be constantly changing.

Game's... fun so far. Some things might be a bit clunky and yet to be fleshed out, and the early game is a bit slow and also a bit brutal, but once things get moving and you hit relative midgame, they really start moving.

So, so much potential and things yet to come and already in the woodworks and this could be a game like original Elona, where you could sink thousands of hours in once it's fully done. Noa's also extremely receptive to feedback and is active in the Discord, so yeah!

Thing is that trees take forever to grow, even if you use fertiliser. Like 2 to 3 times as long as other crops. With common tree types, it's far better to just go out lumberjacking in the wild. Wood farming is just a byproduct of growing apples or coconuts.

The reason I brought up mahogany is that the tree only spawns on mountain tiles in under 5 trees a map. Farming enough wood to build a base with is something you plan a year or two ahead of time in game. It's one of the woods which is legit hard to get in large amounts.

During the alfa Basalt was really busted as it was the fourth hardest material and it could be found in the wilderness, it looks like it has been nerfed a bit. You should still be able to find basalt rocks (the small ones you can pick up, not the big ones you have to mine) laying around in mountain tiles. It's fairly rare and looks similar to normal stone but it should help you mine more materials than a normal stone pickaxe. I think you can do the same with obsidian but I'm not entirely sure as I haven't tried yet

The maximum potential cap in Elona was 400%.
