Ok you faggots, I started learning Japanese and I just learned about Kanji.

I don't know if any Japanese speaking people ever realized but... Why not replace Kanji with Hirigana/Katakana? It would be SO MUCH easier.

Kanji seems pointless to me. If they fixed that crap I'm sure many more people would learn Japanese.

>> No.4689472

Go download Mother 3. It doesn't have any kanji and will teach you why kanji are necessary.

The Japanese use Kanji for the same reason we don't write in phonemes, to distinguish written words.

>> No.4689481

it seems like that at first but it isn't the case. i hate reading japanese that dosn't have kanji now. winning combo is kanji + furigana though.

>> No.4689482

Hey there,I'm learning it too, and,by the way,one exemple:

The word "Hana" can mean,in hiragana, "Nose" of "Flower".
That would be quite annoying in texts since there are lots of words like this one.
So Kanjis are here to remove the reading problem.

Ok you faggots, I started learning science and I just learned about Latin and Greek root words.

I don't know if any Japanese speaking people ever realized but... Why not replace root words with Inglish/Spanish? It would be SO MUCH easier.

Latin and Greek seem pointless to me. If they fixed that crap I'm sure many more people would learn science.

They should fix English. I hate those irregular verbs. It'd be so much easier if they made them regular.

But it should be obvious from the context if it's nose or flower.

There is absolutely NO excuse for Kanji existing.

Kanji makes learning a little harder and reading a little easier. While it could be replaced, there is no real reason to and the challenge that changing an entire writing system would pose is incredible for very little gain.

>> No.4689526

>>4689505
A text full of words like this would eventually be annoying to read.
Plus,Kanji takes less place on the paper than hiragana \o/

>> No.4689532

Of course they realized it. They know that they basically copied the Chinese characters because CHUUGOKU SUGOI, only then they realized that their language has fuck all in common with Chinese grammatically, but rolled with it anyways.

They seriously thought about changing it in the late 1940's, but I think you can tell how far that managed to go.

Holy shit how have I never realized this!

BRB, writing a mail to the Japanese president so he fixes this shit ASAP.

Ok you faggots, I started learning English and I just learned about grammar and words.

I don't know if any English speaking people ever realized but... Why not replace a bunch of complicated words which all basically mean the same thing with one simple word? It DOUBLEPLUS easy.

Hard word ungood. Better bad thing follow many people learn English.

Look as I make you feel like an idiot in a few seconds.
Read this text, did you bother to scan every single letter ?
Of course you didn't, your brain recognized the forms and and lenght of the word long before you started reading it, it's the same with kanjis.
The REAL issue about kanjis is that you cannot read them.
You might not recognize the word "house" but by reading the letters HO-U-SE it'll be much easier to recall its meaning.
Kanjis on the other side are bullshit, either you know them or you don't, there's no way to "read" the curves or lines in a kanji.

I'm taken back by the fact you haven't encountered one of these boards on your own seeing as they pop up every two days or so...

Assuming you're not just trolling then, Kanji make it much easier to read and once you start learning them you'll realize it's no as complicated as you originally thought. At least that's how it went for me. If I had to read everything in Hirigana/Katakana I'd probably /wrists. Besides outside of the basic several thousand kanji everything will have furigana! yay.

The system of radicals is already fucked up as many radicals that make up kanji don't have any fucking connection to the kanji they make. I just use it as a system for studying, learn by groups of radicals and differentiate them.
