The youkai she helped might have thought of her as 'nice' but not the humans that died as a result of her lies. Why do you think the humans wanted the youkai to be exterminated in the first place? It's because they were killing/harassing humans. Nazrin is one of the youkai that she associates herself with yet one of the first things out of Nazrin's mouth to Marisa went something like this: "my mice are hungry. Time to feed them some more humans."

The op's doujinshi is not only a perfect rendition of what happened back in the times of Byakuren but a perfect portrayal of youkai in general.

When will people finally understand that Gensokyo is both moe moe, grimdark and something in between at the same time? There are shitloads of characters. Some of them are good, some are evil, and some are crazy genocidal monsters. There are many different locations in Gensokyo. In some of them fairies play with human children, in others humans are ripped apart and eaten on the stop. Is it really that hard to understand?
