I like to think that both of them got something out of their relationship. Marisa's whole personality was influenced by Mima's, and Mima was influenced by Marisa's presence to become more mellow, relaxed and sociable.

I hate to imagine what Mima's disappearance from the series did to Marisa. Especially with her being the closest thing to a loving Mother to Marisa.

I sure do hope that we bet something about the two of them and their Mother Daughter relationship.

She probably feels quite lonely, despite her optimistic nature. I imagine Mima feels quite lonely too, wherever she is.
The saddest part about Mima being a never ever, is how much potential she has as a character. Being an actual foster parent to a human, she would add a lot to the world and her hijinks with Marisa would be very cute.

In my head cannon Mima lives in Marisa's house. The reason she doesn't go out and do stuff anyone is because she's to old for that kind of shenanigans. She spends most of her days cleaning , cooking and generally doing house work for her daughter. I'd also like to imagine she has a good relation with Alice and some of the other 98hus

I do think Mima would be reduced to just staying at home all the time if she ever actually returned, even though I think she would make a great protagonist. I personally see Mima as someone who would enforce discipline on Marisa, so considering the state of Kirisame residence, her always being there doesn't sit right with me.
Also I like to think that Kirisame residence has Mima's personal room and it is the only room Marisa still keeps tidy and clean.

Eh, I wouldn't mind
The little pipsqueak could use a father figure in her life for once.
The question is, how much of a mother figure is Mima to Marisa? Is she a proper adoptive parent, who disciplines her child as if it were her own, or is she more of a laid back auntie that is kinda halfassing it out of obligation more than anything?

>> No.46762899

>>46762074
There never really was any obligation for Mima to take care of Marisa, so it wouldn't make sense for her to halfass it. It's also why I think that their relationship as yokai master and human disciple is very interesting - more interesting than Reimu's and Kasen's relationship, who does have a reason to see Reimu succeed.

Id imagine it would be a funny and heart-warming comedy talking about the modern(?) problems of a (not)normal Genysoko family.

Dealing with not only Mima's friends as in Shinki and Yuuka and Marisa's friends as in Alice and Reimu. Probably having Yukari come in every now and then cause problems out of jealousy that she got mogged by a ghost.

It would be also very interesting to imagine the wacky situations caused by these broads of dubious sanity
