Said to be the greatest martial artist of all time.

Bruce Lee died unexpectedly of a short illness, but his legend lives on even today.

The question is, why doesn't /jp/ ever make any threads about this guy? I think he's amazing, I'm not sure if he's the best japanese martial artist ever but he has to be the most famous hands down.

Bruce Lee appreciation thread, go!

Oyama tested himself in a kumite, a progression of fights, each lasting two minutes, and each after the featured participant wins. Oyama fought 300 men in 3 days.

He was also known for his propensity for combat with bulls, bare-handed. In his lifetime, he battled 52 bulls, three of which were killed instantly with one strike, earning him the nickname of Godhand.

He trained constantly you know, he wasn't just an actor. He was a serious martial artist. Honestly, he probably was the worlds best at one point.

But that's not surprising anyway, Japan's always had the top martial artists. It's a well known fact that most martial art forms actually originate from that part of Asia including ninjitsu and Muay Thai.

It takes a real man to go train on a top of a snowy mountain alone for a year without winter clothing, provisions or human contact.

He spent his entire time punching rocks, climbing with his bare hands and jogging in the snow. He even mutilated himself by cutting his eyebrows whenever he felt homesick or had doubts that he wouldn't make it.

I wish I had the same kind of devotion Mas Oyama has.
