She's one of my better characters. I picked her up and waltzed through arcade, I was pretty surprised. I don't see what your problem is. She doesn't have a variety of moves and can be kind of helpless if you let yourself get closed in on but overall, I'd rank her top ten.

ZUN releases new Touhous about as often as EA releases new Maddens. I bet if some guy made you choose between a wonderful shmup with tons of content and characters and wonderful gameplay and a soundtrack composed by Hideki Naganuma and Shoji Meguro and Daisuke Ishiwatari and the whole thing would be developed by Capcom and Cave and it would be for the PS3, 360 and PC and it would have a simultaneous worldwide release and then a sequel would come out after four years and it'd be even more amazing or a new generic rehashed Touhou game every year you'd pick the Touhou games because you're gay and a nerd.

This is a damn dream game with FIFTY SEVEN difficulties and 151 STAGES NOT INCLUDING MIRROR MODE AND MULTIPLAYER STAGES. Difficulty 32 would be as difficult as your average CAVE shmup. Difficulty 57 would be twice as hard as the hardest shmup known to man.

Alice is insanely hard for newbies because her melee attacks have a minimum range - if the enemy is right next to you, there's like one shitty move that you can hit her with. But she is useful once you learn how to use her.
