Compare everyone to Micheal Moore, you will see that he stands out and that the others are either a tad more colored than him or even more, yes there are exceptions but as I have said, they are rare, but to now that you have to visit the place yourself.
And makeup is also rather common among some women, and that is why you will find more pale looking females than males, it isn't really as if women japanese women are more pale than japanese males.

Comic technique is usually drawn with black ink on white paper. As long ast the readers agree somewhat with the ambiguation and interpretation of human character such things as 'racial traits' become uneccessary, you identify with the comic characters regardless anyway. Seeing as you're already within the industry demographic.


And it's not like whites are exactly chalk white either. It's something moving beyond skincolor and skin into more abstract and conceptual territories where it's also coupled with the idea of purity. I'm suspecting the japanese word for snow, "Yuki", which also retains the meaning of purity, to be very related to the japanese idea of the colour.

The skin differences between anglos and asians isn't really a matter of shade, so using a term like "white" isn't accurate at all. The color is actually more of a matter of hue. Anglos tend to be hues of red and pink. Asians tend to be hues of orange and gold. Note that both can be very pale or very dark, because darkness and light are factors of shade, not hue.
