Mythology is a bit weird. In nip not only gods but also some yokai like kitsune can make offsprings with humans. Don't remember any myth with a human and non-god hybrid got any children tho. But shit like the Minotaur go full lmao on biology.
In Touhou in particular yokai are influenced by belief, but it's not elaborated how it works exactly so maybe as long as you belief you can do it or maybe you have to convince a bunch of villagers that it's possible.
If your gonna write any fantasy good luck with making magic kinda satisfying for you. Also good luck with psychology since it seems to have a lot of uncertainty.

I hate to say it but "skill issue". Stop focusing on the hard rules otherwise you fall into the bottomless pit of trying to work out how Yukari's gap works, and let me tell you a little secret: ZUN doesn't even know because it's a meta power that's intentionally vague by design. Magic loses it's "magic" when explained into a science, look at any isekai and they'll bore you to tears explaining their rules of magic only to drop the pretense anyway when the author says the protagonist needs a power boost.

What you instead should focus on is verisimilitude. The feeling of believably and following some sort of rules even if those rules are never elaborated on to the reader. What makes Touhou interesting in this regard is it has tools provided to make or break whatever rules the plot requires with several characters having Deus Ex Machina level powers, as this is already established in setting it can be satisfying to the reader. Eirin and Yukari can and have done this in service of the plot such as Eirin's mcguffin medicine in LoLK or Yukari lending just enough help to get the protagonists to solve things themselves in several games. Rather than rules, you can go by guidelines. Ask yourself "is it believable for character X to do Y?" and you'll start working out boundaries to work in without breaking immersion.

What is there to discuss that hasn't been talked to death? We're well aware of the "outsiders die a horrible death unless you're a named character" bit. If canon discussion is a back and forth on what printwork shows what and cherry picking on what parts of PMiSS is canon or not that day of the week, I'd rather funpost. Better than being a sourpuss.
It's not like there's a complete and total disregard for canon either, but what we have to work with is so loose there's about a dozen different ways you can bend, validate, or refute bits of canon to fit your own view of things; and it turns out having a basis in canon is good enough to not discount it immediately, the fantasized scenario doesn't have to be airtight, just plausible enough. It's why cute/grimsokyo argument exists as you can reasonably get to either of those perspectives from just interpreting canon.
You're more than welcome to interpret canon down the Zounose route of thought, but I guarantee you that most people would rather think about how amazing and perfect their favorite 2hu is.
