It's hard to explain, really, since I doubt I fit in here... and yet. You used to be /mu/'s neighbor, I came here a few times purely by accident. And what can I say, despite being relatively foreign to otaku culture and all I felt at home. You're one of the more creative boards, I like that.

I don't know if I have the right to call myself an otaku despite being a despicable, insufferable nerd in general. Sure, I played a few VNs, I watch some anime, but it's not obsessive. When I obsess over something then it's music. The sole reason why I got into Touhou was the music, my whole free time is filled with music-related activities. I listen to music, play music, study music, make music. And I'm only interested in nerdy music, namely vidya/Touhou music, classical music and black metal. ; _ ;

I enjoy doujins and Visual novels, have a fondness of Galge games and Eroge can be nice and doesn't bother me and Touhou is my favorite shmup.
And I also like related things such as the music albums and all that. (most of the albums are doujins though)

So I don't know, what type of nerd am I?
I visit /jp/ every day but I also often stop by /tg/ even though I don't play their games and sometimes though rarely I spend time on /lit/ now when it is here, more flow there than there ever were on /book/.

A) /jp/ is the only English speaking otaku community that I feel comfortable posting in.

B) The overly dedicated kind who lives for nothing other than this subculture. I knew about 2ch and Futaba before 4chan was even created and I moved to Japan promptly upon graduating high school. B) I don't consider myself an otaku or a nerd really. I am a normal (albeit very ugly, skin diseases and all) guy who happens to like, anime, manga, jrpg, eroge and all the usual stuff. I'm learning Japanese to help me enjoy all of this but most people don't know anything about my hobbies or the fact that I know some Japanese.
