Psychiatry is the study of the medical treatment of the mind. Psychology is the study of the mind in general. Philosophy is, broadly speaking, the logical study of fundamental issues of existence.

Although certain (stupid) schools of these studies are connected with what you're talking about, what you want is literary criticism.
