Inded i don't think she'll be the progagonist of any manga to come with Zun's recent direction, maybe the ocassional background or one off thing, but while i'd like to have more official stuff directly related to her, i still like that the door is open for more stories even if it's just in fanon, if she was officially dead then there wouldn't be as much stuff other writers could explore, compared to now where she is still alive and having plenty of time to do a lot of stuff.

What is a fairy if not a mockery of the human spirit? They mimck our bodies in an attempt to disguise themselves amongst us, to try and subvert us from within, where once the humans proudly stood above the fairies, now everywhere you go you see more and more signs asking for what they deem equality, but in a nattempt to bring the fairies up, they aren't doing anything more than drag humanity as a whole down to their level. But it's not too late still, they can control most of the masses, but not everyone, and it's up to the few of us who can see teh truth of the fairy question to try and put an end to this madness they have inflicted upon us humans, and the first step is to recruit more like us, you'll be prosecuted, but know that your sacrifices will be for the greatedr good of not only you or your loved ones, but your descendants as well, you might not be remembered by name, but you'll still have made a change in history, so go forth and spread the message, recruit more and open the eyes of those who are willing to see, or take the ultimate sacrifice and die like a martyr by taking down one of the heads of this fairy occupied goverment. And remember, if things were trully over for us, they wouldn't need the propaganda they keep pumping out.

It might be hard to do, considering we are already married, but to answer your question.
The first thing to deal with Akyuu, is the fact tah she is indeed a woman, and they can be tricky to maange if you aren't too used to dealing with specially their mind games, she might not be straight forward with her wants and needs, she'd push you away at times jsut to see how you deal with rejection, she might draw you in or invite you closer to see if you are desperate enough to jump at any opportunity of affection, or if maybe you'll reject her outright, neither of which would be the right option but rather reassuring her that it's not the time yet to do any further affectionate stuff, of course even if you did try she'd push you away just as quickly with a disappointed expression. So overall you'd have to pass all these mental tests to get closer to her, as well as phyisical and intimate ones, as if you are just someone who she bouncess nicely with, then youa re jsut a friend for her, that's why you should indeed keep showign htat you intend to evolve the relationship even if not rushing things too quick as if you were also judging her character to make sure that not only you fit her standards, but you being a quality man also need her to fit your own standards as well. And for the physical tests, those are genral fora bout anyone, Akyuu would like to have a fit and healthy partner that hse'd be attracted with, and also could take of the physical labor that making a home would need.
After that, there is also the issue of what i usually refer to as he sprinkle of autism, she isn't completly like that, but hse does have her own quirks to deal with, mostly in her behaivor and way of expression herself, if you mess up or you have something she dislikes, she might be too blunt about it towards you, and naturally reacting badly instead of taking hte feedback might net you negative points with her. And this not only applies to you, as even if you manage to deal, or even find charming this attitude of hers, you'll also have to see her express these attitudes towards others, and you'll have to learn how to deal with that and ideally morph her words into something like bantering to destress others that might find her too blunt,overall softening her relations with others.
And besides filling in these social or mental weaknesses or quirks of hers, there is lastly the msot obvious one, the matter of her lifespan, that Akyuu while not despairing over, would stil lbe very aware of, and i cn easily see her giving a last push back if you try to intimate with her, mostly to not emotionally damge you for when the time of her departing the world comes, and even if you don't mind her pushing you away, there is also the matter of how getting her in love might make her despair over knowing she won't get to live the long life with you that she'd start to dream of, finding these fantasies of the long fulfilling life she could've had, crushing towards her morale, and that's another moment where you'll have to be there for her if you do wish to have a relationship with Akyuu

I think one of the main reasons for that is her demeanor adn the way she is presented, she is more of a homely character with a hints of tragedy, and people usually are more so drawn towards the adventurous characters, some which tehy can follow along interesting adventures and the like, but with Akyuu she is more the kind where you'd follow her day to day, maybe she'd get into trouble or go on whatever small adventure, but nothing too big and exciting, so naturall y those who are seeking grand advenntures are drawn to other characters, plus the tragedy part might push away those who are casually looking for something nicec and simple. Alongside that she is also not attracting those who are more there for hte character design or rather sexual characters, she dresses very conservatively, she doesn't make lewd jokes or have a demeanor that might hint to or appeal to the fantasies of these people. The same can be shown nby hwo her body is also nnot very sexual in one way or another, she doesn't have a curvy body that might appeal to the general coomers, nor does she have a loli body to appeal to the other side either, she is more in the middle, in that sense she has more so the body of a general normal woman, which the kind of degens that are attracted to touhou might not be too interesed on.

I haven't tought too much about that, it's not something i like to think about, i know that Zun nwon't kill her through the duration of touhou, and if she was here, or i was with her, i'd do my best to elongate her life in one way or another. But if the time for her death came, i really don't know what i'd bring to the funeral, i guess ti would depend a lot on the kinds of things that we'd have done up untill that point, maybe something like the first gift that we gave each other as to conmemorate how far our relationship got, or maybe i'd try and find a way to preserve her legacy, maybe seal and frame some special item for hers, build a memorial, or such. Overall it's not a pleasant thing to think about so i'd rather not goo deeper into this matter. Let's just enjoy that despite the problesm with his writinng, Zun has at least done a thing right and has stated how Akyuu will live for a lot longer than previously hinted
