I love Flan. Sometimes I fantasize about being a servant for the SDM, meeting her, and her demanding me to be her personal servant. Iirc it was about not being able to cross running water, not being harmed or killed by it. Kinda like they typically can't enter a home uninvited - which I don't think was ever addressed in 2hu lore, actually. Also, the misty lake is probably fine, nobody would set their mansion up right in front a huge pool of their magical weakness.

You know, the more I think about it, the more sense it makes for Remilia to move to Gensokyo.
They probably can't cross any flowing water, including the underground water pipes and sewers. They can have baths so long as there isn't any splashing. And the running water is only because it's seen as "clean" or "holy" since running water is a sign of life and vampires are an undead being. So all one would have to do is make sure the moving water was magically or symbolically classified as something else and they'd be just fine.
That's why most of the Old World vampires that came to the US moved to Louisiana, because swamps don't count as "clean" running water.

Now that I think about it. Crosses don't work on them because they are in Gensokyo but for whatever reason she takes spiritual damage from Shinto charms and the Yin-Yang Orb and beans like the ones thrown at oni.
One of the reasons Remilia has crosses around Scarlet Mansion is that there are no Christians in Gensokyo so they don't hurt her but if there is a Christian that pops up the crosses will hurt her, and she'll know one is around. Think of it as an early detection warning system.
