I think that with this trailer and its adaptation, Mahoyo says the opposite.
Ufotable could have easily made a living adapting fate spin-offs like other anime studios and made much more money than any other Typemoon IP.
The closest thing to Fate in terms of popularity and earnings is Tsukihime... and let's not even talk about DDD, Notes, Tsuki no Sango

Ok so basically Kiara tried to hack into Sakura to gain control of the Moon Cell so that she could create her anti-Buddha world of hedonism (this is what will destroy the world), but this broke Sakura's AI. At the same time, Sakura had fallen in love with you and was scheduled to be reset, but she refused because she wanted to save you because apparently you were destined to lose that HGW if things stood as they did. The combination of these 2 events caused BB to split off from Sakura and act of its own accord, and everything it did was to keep you alive because she loves you very, very much.

Also an important thing to note about Kiara, and I won't spoil this thing because it's more about her character than anything plot-related, is that she is an Anti-Buddha. Kiara is the inversion of buddhism, an anti-enlightened Mara who trades eternity for an instant (Mara being the demon that tried to tempt Buddha into rejecting enlightenment, and you probably know it from being the penis monster in SMT because "mara" is also Japanese slang for a dick). CCC is an extremely Buddhism-centered game, which is why Kiara when transformed by her servant becomes a psuedo-Angra Mainyu, the Zoroastrian evil god that is the equal and opposite of Ahura Mazda.
