Interesting taste. I could see that turning out well. Ever since people got access to AI art, I've been leaning more and more into alternate non-anime styles. Personally, I would like to see touhous in a more franco belgian style or something that resembles Lupin III. I think early Hirano Masanori is a good example and it's a shame he rarely drew Touhou for a brief period in the past.

Not really. Outside of 4chan most people are still absolutely clueless about proompting even with NAI. Most jap prompts are still {{{masterpiece}}} gib pussy {{{{detailed face}}}} butiful eyes. A lot of people are just lazy to bother and will just pay the pennies to a proompter (because it's cheaper than an artist)

I'm not quite sure on what models are good to use. I've been lurking AI generals and fiddling with whatever gets mentioned, but I'm still new to SD. The process feels rather tedious and at a certain point, I feel more comfortable trying to draw the whole thing by scratch.

The issue with local models is that it's hard to fight its underlying 3D/realistic style so if you like flat colors that NAI generally has you're gonna struggle. It's also harder to make characters actually DO something or interact with each other. That's why usually local outputs are like "1girl is standing smiling with cool scenery"

It makes a huge difference. It's where all the detailing happens. Treat your t2i output as nothing more than a base. There's also the problem of some models being more "grainy" than others, which means they can't generate appropriate detail right off the bat and more or less need to re-work the image, preferably at a higher resolution. Use Hires fix if you're supremely lazy (and don't mind wasting time/electricity) or img2img on any and all bases you like. You're bound to see the difference right away.

Funny you'd say that. If you use img2img, you can pretty much shitscribble on your base t2i output before plugging it back into SD and img2img, and most of the time it'll recognise whatever changes you've made. T. been doing that for months with great results.

Anyway, my advice is generate bases at 600p at most then upscale in steps to your desired target rest. Generally, each upscale will produce a much better image than the base.

It's Sillytavern, a program that acts as a frontend for textgen AI. Basically you plug in your actual AI service into the program, and then you can make convenient use of it (also helping you bypass some restrictions if you're savvy). Sillytavern's useless if you don't have access to AI to begin with, but there are ways to get access to some commercial-tier heavy-duty ones for 'free'. It's a steep learning curve to get it all running and then to smooth it out, but I've had a lot of fun (and faps).
Go to /aicg/ on /g/; they'll have everything you need to know. But keep in mind that they heavily gatekeep newcomers and non-contributors because they don't want the corpos to start breathing down their necks. So it won't be easy, and you'll have to learn most of it by searching through links or archives. Good luck!

It's hard to wrangle it properly, probably because it gets confused between the two characters who have a very similar name (ibaraki_douji_(touhou) versus ibaraki_douji's_arm). That won't do, you should erase most of your prompt, keep the artist and just put what you want in that exact spot you're inpainting. NAI's inpainter is too strong and will change drastically what you selected.
