The sad thing is, DEEN/Stay Night is really not THAT bad. Yeah, it combined routes sloppily. Yeah, the animation is not great. Yeah, it's more responsible for "Shirou is a retard" jokes than anything in the VN. But at the same time, it gave us the voices these characters have had since, it was believe it or not one of the better-done VN adaptations of the mid 2000s (I feel so bad for my fellow Demonbane fans and what they went through), and it still has to this day a fucking 11/10 soundtrack

DEEN Stay Night is uniroincally the best starting point to get into the Fateverse (besides obviously the VN), because it's the only Fate anime that doesn't assume you are already familiar with the setting and characters. Yes its production values and certain artistic liberties are wonky af but the world building is phenomenal and the music has aged wonderfully. Plus they struck gold with the VAs casted or else those VAs wouldn't still be voicing the same characters after nearly 20 years.

Depends on the DAA. Last time I checked, some can be on par with servants or divine spirits. Other than that, it's sheer sword skills that would give a heroic spirits a run for their money and Iori was at beginning stage of being a sword saint and tapping into the root. He can probably beat Be'zet and the latter would be obliged into a duel to the death.

Depends on how well they can tank Iori's blades + skill which became a mystery in itself with various attachments/mystic codes and if he were told to fight against a dead apostle with some background knowledge. He can attach an accessory to his blade or a grip strap with a conceptual holy element and DAs would be overwhelmed by holy slashes. Then again, he could probably beat 1 and it would be all it takes to get a good clue on how to properly beat them or understand conceptual advantage to prepare. Even so, I'd wager he has the ability to beat Lorelei. He was reaching into level of sword saint and despite barely reaching into a beginner stage and some nerfs on heroic spirits due to the ritual botched (maybe 2/3 as they would normally be if they aren't as well known as Takeru or Musashi), can cut a spiritual core of heroic spirits which means alot. I have no doubt he can beat some DAA that he has no conceptual disadvantages against or is prepared with some mystic code protection if he were to fight against someone like Vlov who you would have to prepare cold and heat protection against.

I don't think Iori is surviving long enough to be able to deal damage to a DA given the shell gauge system represents that inability to simply do it outright. DA are also all unique beings very different from one another so learning that they can't die when they're killed isn't going to help from one to the next.

I think he would have a hard time against a rank IV-V. He's a mostly normal human barely hanging in there with magecraft, skill and a servant ally. And good luck finding or operating something as effective as Virgin Pain or even being able to resist vampire powers in the first place. Shell gauge becomes unimportant when Iori masters his stances throughout the story making itself enormously possible for Iori as a beginner kensei to even slash spirit cores or even cut the soul (remember the interview where sword saints can even cut the soul?), which even DAs would have a difficult time recovering from. Like I said, he gains enough mysteries and mystic codes to strengthen his blade and skills to where heroic spirits can be felled and even DAs.

Most certainly, we already have plenty of information to get a picture on how powerful DAA are. In Case Files 2 remnants of Greater DA were capable of generating enough energy to recreate a Grail that makes Servants summonable. This was only possible because remnants of Greater DA are equal to each other, and Rodin outright states Einashe's main body is as powerful as his master Rita. Rank VII DA are stated to be in a different league from Rank VI.

I think Calvaria Star is way more powerful than Excalibur. They both condense and accelerate light and they also have the same Mystery rank, but in Calvaria's case this compression and acceleration is stated to reach the "absolute limit" while I don't think the same being stated for Excalibur.

That's a stupidly high amount when you consider Ciel has 5000 units of magical energy compared to an average magus only carrying 20.
