For the Abrahamic god, we don't know much about what he's up to in touhou, although in SoPM westernization is directly correlated with the loss of power and youkai, so you could attribute that to him.
So while we say Kanako could become super powerful, she clearly failed either way you look at it and had to move to a more favorable environment.

There should be some reason for this not to happen, like:

It's a problem with all hidden fantasy settings, personally I don't find any of the explanations fully satisfying, it's just a convention or trope of the genre that exists because of thematic reasons.
But for youkai, the most satisfactory explanation for me is that as they are defined by their relationship with humanity, particularly as the embodiment of human fears, they naturally inhabit areas not suitable for humans or are dangerous.
Thus as humanity expands the range of youkai shrink, and vice versa. While theoretically the top tier youkai could have prevented this, they didn't for their own reasons, and either live in the shadows of the outside world, or have migrated to places where they can have more control over their fate, rather than just being the doomed eternal enemy of humans.
But of course as has been stated in cannon, new kinds of youkai will fill the gap left behind, and with the urban legends emerging this seems true enough.

I mean, Suika is still alive but she is most likely a pale shadow of Shuten at her peak. Basically: I think the actual struggle was ended a long time ago. 1. make my way towards eientei and inquire about methods to access the moon, offering them labor as compensations if they so wished

Surely there must be some kind of leads for this, in all seriousness. Then again, it world be hard to sift through all the "new age" and larp stuff to find the real deal, and then it's an uphill battle as to "why" any of us would be better than what they already have going for them on the transport side of things. However, one thing that can be said is that the Old Adam bar is timeless considering the owner is THE Adam and even has a tree in the place that may or may not be just an allegorical apple tree (or maybe I'm basing that part off of fan works, so ignore if inaccurate).

Still, we know Yukari doesn't have infinite reach with her abilities and had to travel to find the hobgoblins, so it can be at least implied that there is some form of global scale interworkings for the paranormal/supernatural and that its not just a small, localized group somewhere in the Outside. Evidence for this is that the area surrounding Gensokyo is "dead" nature-wise, because the fairies of the area that makes up the border left, leaving it to die (intentional or not).

And Remilia ended up with a Chupacabra, which is known to inhabit the South American continent, and even could be said to territorially run up into the Southern US and slightly up the SE coast/gulf. But then again, that whole area is known for "vampire-like" beings, and there's plenty of counties that it could have moved to/been smuggled to before the procurement of the SDM contacts. Not sure where I'm going with this, but suffice to say that if I ever got a chance to run into these groups and didn't run risk of being on the chopping block, I'd definitely try to work with them in some way, with the stipulation that I can make it safely into(and maybe out of) Gensokyo, if only just to visit certain people I care about.

Also Chupacabra aren't south american, they're Peutorican in origin, with sightings outside of Puerto Rico being of mangey dogs in real life, and in Touhou probably being an entirely different species.
I am kind of interested in seeing more monkey girls like a Sasquatch 2hu or an Abominable Snow 2hu.

While heca would be more hands off and casual, with them. Since they would go against her personal ethos of freedom, but like with the Ministry of Right and Wrong, also be a perspective which she acknowledge and be willing to help.
Of course at the end of the day she's like an outlaw so her and the american org would have no real loyalty to each other, but it's not like they have a choice, heca is too powerful, useful, and genuinely willing to help.
