Why do so many VNs get Chinese translations only a few months after it's been released in Japan? The majority of VNs have Chinese and even Korean translations, but we barely have anything...and we take years to finish.

IT'S NOT FAIR!

because chinese and korean have that hivemind

Much easier to translate moon --> chinese. Half the characters are already done for them. Not so sure about korean but since japan and korea are secretly gay for each other they work it out.

Yeah tell me about it, Air is ten years old and the vn's translation is still at just over 50%.
yet just about every other key game has long since been finished..

Forgive me if this incredibly stupid, but can't most of the Japanese kanji be innately read by Chinese people? The characters are mostly borrowed from Chinese. Is that way off, or sort of true?

Koreans have Moshimo Ashita ga Harenaraba translated. Lucky fuckers.

For the same reason that we get British games and television only a few months after they're released in England.

Western people who manage to learn japonese after years of studying are too proud of themselves to waste their skills on the lower masses.
