So why did the music take a different direction in Ar Tonelico 3? Is there a plot reason or something? I miss these type of music in the previous two games

Yes, the Red and Blue hymmnos CD's have been available for at least a few weeks now. I only really listen to EXEC_COSMOFLIPS/., EXEC_REBIRTHIA=PROTOCOL/. and Ec Tisia from the AT3 hymmnos albums. There's some decent songs but there's not much that sticks out like in AT1/2.

I'm pretty sure Yoshitaka Hirota composed this.

For AT3, he composed "chmod b111000000" and "XaaaCi." on disc 2 of the Hymmnos concert if you're curious. Awesome songs.

That XaaaCi. I would love to know when this is played in the game. Starts out great and gets even better when those drums kick in at the 4 minute mark.

I tough that the second part of EXEC_FLIP_ARPHAGE/ had bit of similaraity also to earlier hymnns. Also METHOD_HYMMELI altough being vastly different also had generally similar feel to them in it in my opinion.

The first tower had more of a quiet setting and the people were mostly united under the church of Elemia.
It makes sense that most of the hymmnos had some kind of "ceremonial/religious" sound to them.

The second tower had a much more chaotic setting, with the people split in two factions and no "good guys" to choose from, plus the admin was missing and the people lived costantly in harsh conditions.
Makes sense that most of the hymmnos sound powerful and confused, and full of emotions such as anger or frustration.

The third tower's setting was more planned, people were still divided in factions but their motives and objectives were clear enough. Clustania being a feminazi Revateyls' nation, Arkya a misoginist SCIENCE faction and Taiga being the people trying to live away from that shit.
Most of the hymmnos are precise and sounds more like programs, and they are more focused in which emotion they cary unlike the precedent ones, in a way they are more "pure".
