Kakyuusei vs Tokimeki Memorial

I can't believe I still am hung up on the flame wars from long ago.

Some people have said before that Kakyuusei is a copy of Tokimemo. I say this isn't so. I think it is more of a response to it than a copy.

Let us start with the main heroine of both. On Tokimeki Memorial's side, we have Shiori Fujisaki, the archetypical perfect girl. Cold at first unless you prove yourself, and clumsy at love. On Kakyuusei's side, Mizuho Yuuki who knows the MC and only gets mad at him for genuine reasons. Though similar, they are completely different in behavior.

Kakyuusei, unlike Tokimemo, focuses on exploring your small world than meeting up stats in order to please the girls.

Events on Kakyuusei are based on previous requisites, seasons and character relationships. Tokimemo is completely random on its events. Choices on Tokimemo are just Girlfriend, Friends, Get-the-girl-angry options. Doesn't get much deeper than that. In Kakyuusei, even if say something that gets the girl angry, it can change the plot significantly. That is to say, disagreeing with her is not forbidden.

Shiori has her moments, but she just isn't as lovable as Mizuho is.
