• PvP channel monsters have less health, so you can level quicker.

Genders are class-specific.

There's not that much difference between PvP and PvE. They're the same server, just different channels. I haven't bothered to try switching between them on the fly, but they both appear as options every time I log in with my character, so I assume you can jump back and forth as needed. Right now, in exchange for sticking your neck out on the PvP channel, all mobs have a chunk of health taken off so you can get that sweet exp faster. I just stay in PvP, as nobody bothers to raid the low level area.

Oh, and be sure to do all the quests you can. They overlap a lot and the payout is great.

Basically, Namae talked to all of the other guilds in the siege to get them to ally with us. This worked out pretty well for us since everyone was defending Namae against Resonance. After the siege ended, mina and her guildies were crying in shout about how "it took you guys 4 guilds to take us down?" and stuff like that. Resonance will probably be even more butthurt once positions are assigned.

there's 2 confirmed open betas, 1st one will have a server wipe, 2nd not confirmed

the level cap is only 40, basically do tutorial until you lvl to 15 and then can take part in kvk battles, altho some people recommend you grind on mobs to 20 then start on kvk all the way to 40
but since the US server is new, we can probably just do the tutorial to 15 then straight away jump into combat till 40

If you think the quest grind is bad in Aika, then you aren't aren't going to find much better. As for bugs, it really isn't so bad, considering it's in closed beta. Not bad at all, in fact.

The interface isn't bad at all, I'm curious to hear what your problem with it is. However, I can see how castle sieges could be chaotic and confusing with the current setup, but that's about it. That definitely needs to be addressed.

I don't think Aika is particularly great or anything, but it's better than most f2p games out there, and probably has some of the best mass pvp that any mmo currently has to offer.

I believe him; there were like 10 seperate quests to kill something boar-related in the first area alone. And it also does look like it gets better later once you get through all the bad parts of the game.

I've never had an issue with the chat box, but I do agree that you should be able to change the opacity. Also agree about party invites. I was thinking more along the lines of UI design when you mentioned the interface, but you certainly have valid points there. Also, they need to address instant kicking party members when they disconnect/exit the game, and allow people to join an instance in progress.

I don't think it's been confirmed for Aika, but most f2p games don't have server wipes after OB. They usually open up the cash shop during OB. Gpotato did this with Allods.

Exactly how I felt, which is why I decided to stop for now. I'm really enjoying Aika thus far, but I feel that if I go very far, it'll feel cumbersome to go through a gigantic portion of the game again. I'm really looking forward to the OB.

Yeah its the same. I mean you go level 1-20 in the first area, they made it so the exp/difficulty of monsters doesn't change that much with level.

You can be killing the exact same group of monsters for a huge quest chain spanning 2 or 3 levels long.

So in some ways its nice I guess... extremely simplified. The only interesting thing to get into is the character interactions, whereas other MMOs you might get to travel to many zones/fight different shit.

actually FEZ is pretty different, you only grind about 5 lvls from 15-20 on mobs, then you do kvk all the way since it'll give much better exp than grinding on mobs from 20 onwards
general consensus is no one grinds on mobs 20 and up, some people even jump into kvk right after the tutorial quests which is around lvl15/16

so it's more like you jump directly into kvk without all the boring mob grinding, which is what i'm really interested in,
no more having to do hours of boring grind just to get to a good enough lvl to enjoy pvping
of course there is still mob farming around for special item drops or gold or something
