SA is skullfuckingly difficult for a first-timer and if it's your first touhou game you're going to absolutely despise it. It's the hardest game in the series to 1cc in normal let alone hard/lunatic (still haven't played UFO, but people say it's harder there). I still fucking hate SA, even after finishing it, the soundtrack is phenomenal but the gameplay is very much not

The bird and the cat can wait, if you're frustrated with SA go play an easier game like PCB or hell, one of the PC98 games. LLS was my first game to 1cc on lunatic and it's still my second favourite behind IN.

UFO is a different type of difficult, that is, a resource system that will give you grey hairs. SA is rough but I like the reliable live system.
