Buy/download a grammar book, any will do, and learn grammar from there.
In the mean time watch animes if aren't already, to start forming a vocabulary.
After that start learning kanjis, and never stop.
Reading VNs also helps a lot.

The first thing I did was learn hiragana and katakana. It takes about 2 days if you use tools like REALKANA. Then write notes and do stuff ONLY using kana.
Romaji sucks, universities NEVER use romaji. Learn Kana first!

well I'm also learning Japanese and what I'm do is progressing through the Genki line of textbooks while using some kanji flashcards i found on amazon and using anki for vocab. I imagine eventually i will use anki for kanji as well but since im still starting out ( learning 5 new kanji a day) its no proplem to just review all the kanji every day. My plan may not be the greatest but i seems to be working so far.
