So, I'm looking for two gents that'll be able to record their voices in decent quality to form what is to be the hisoutensoku virtual commentator!

Think of it to be something similar to the commentators in Virtua Fighter, UFC, whatever... Basically you pop in a replay and the virtual commentators will talk through the match to increase your enjoyment.

If you think you've got a voice low enough, and american enough, then uh... Sure. Drop in here and I'll contact you when I need the voices.

It'll be a two man thing, the guy with the deep voice'll generally be the 'tactician' and speak about the 'strategy' points at the end of rounds or at times during. He generally evaluates the result of a round "Player one needs to be a bit more passive. Over aggression leads straight to the advantage of player two's hands...". The other guy will commentate through the whole match, listing moves, bringing up the tension, shouting random "AND IT HITS!", "236... 236 - HJC J2A! and... and... REVERSAL!!!"... Whatever.

You simply load the game through a wrapper app and then play a replay to get the commentators in. Statistical output, damage dealt, highest damage combo, dps, whatever the junk you guys want, can be displayed to a different output.

Again, if you want to be "The Voice of Soku", now's y our chance.

Deep voices, sportscaster style voices; that's what I want.

Go record some samples of yourself and post them here for extra cookies. If any of you also want to post some random tidbits that could be said at certain points, strategy notes, whatever (I'm not as well versed in soku as some) then go ahead.

I volunteer to be the John Madden of Hisoutensoku commentators.

"It looks like B is probably definitely gonna wait for his 5 card spell card I mean I mean i mean it looks like he's gonna just wait out there and gonna hold out and BOOM he's got 5 cards and he's gonna use it so i mean i mean he's gonna definitely use it so that he can do it like this, move over here and BANG he's gonna take this round i mean i mean it kind of reminds me of Brett Favre when he took the superbowl, you know what I mean?"

Interesting proposal. No, I mean it. These tripfags in this thread surely don't know shit about the game. I don't have any mics, though.

I don't post in these threads - same with meltan ones when I'm playing those. I can't host so I just connect to whoever posts that they are hosting - and I'm not the type who thinks its 'proper' to say some two fucking letters after I kick someones ass.

I have no reason to post in fightan threads, so I don't and will continue not to.

I'd like to hear this but I don't think that you'll be able to find someone who takes the game serious enough for this.

You know what, fuck it. I love the game and am basically a spectator thanks to my shitty internet anyway anyway, and would love to do my part to make it more popular

I'll apply. What kind of samples would you want, though? For me to make a commentary on an entire match, or just say some script to give you an idea of my typical tone?

Y'know, I just realized. OP said that it'll be a "two man thing," which would obviously mean duo commentaries. The thing is, I have satellite internet, which means that I'm pretty much always gunna be a second or two behind the conversation

I don't really think I'd be able to help with this, unfortunately

Well, hope you find someone that can help you with this, OP. It'll be pretty cool if it works out ::)

>> No.4493657

Tah for the responses and enthusiasm so far. Pretty much all the dudes at the channels I venture either didn't want to do it or had no luster for the deal.

I'll put up a basic wordpress blog soon specifically for this project and those interested can head there for the 'applications' as such.

All the lines you need to record will be given to you on a script. I'll be making the commentary system before the recordings (using my own voice) then my recordings will be replaced with recordings of your voice (sound complicated? no :3).

So all you need to be able to do is record your own voice in decent quality on your home computer, and be able to send that junk in a decent format to me. You'll be fully credited for your contribution.

We might have a Skype session or whatever so you guys can get a feel for the 'duo' commentary. I'll basically give you all the hints and cues as to what I want but, of course, what you want should take precedence (after all, this project isn't to benefit purely myself).

And lasses, feel free to apply when the blog goes live; as long as you have a voice that we all like ;)

No voices that hurt the ears (squeakers no, little 3D kids... sorry no, unless you're moe enough).

TL;DR: a site will be put up which you guys can go to. Until then, development will be hidden until I'm pretty much ready for the recordings to be done.

As for the program details, it won't modify the base executable. You run the app and it'll launch soku in a form ready for 'commentating'. Basically all I'm doing is stealing all the player data and player inputs in realtime and then using that junk to generate the commentary. It *might* work during netplay or arcade, but I won't be explicitly supporting this (bugs are bound to occur).

Hey OP, can we do freeze frames for parts of it and draw on the screen showing whats going on, like they do in those american football games?

dude just lets do it live. you send us the replays, we sync up over skype and hit play at the same time, and we just let it flow naturally.
