Maybe do a lunatic run in front of them or something? More likely I'd just share links to some of my favourite soundtracks, or at the least a remix of them. ZUN's music and all the derivatives of it is something I didn't even know came from touhou for years until I finally discovered the games. I know a couple poor souls who still play geometry dash and osu so they'd definitely recognise a few of the popular songs (night of nights, kaguya's theme, mokou's theme, or fuck it literally anything from SA)

The blaring midi trumpets aren't for everyone but the composition is still fuckin amazing. I guess for a first game I'd either go for lotus land story, mountain of faith or perfect cherry blossom. LLS is my personal favourite and is the easiest I can remember, but 7 and 10 are good entry points if you just want to have a fun time and play them in normal without immense frustration.

I absolutely despise bullet hells and have for the past dozen or so years since I first fell into Touhou. The only one I've ever played before was I think one of the Gradius's at an arcade near my grandma's place, and the only ones I've played outside of 2hu have been stuff that's closer to minigames than actual bullet hells or stuff that stretches the definition like Rabi-Ribi. Touhou's just the only exception where I can get myself to grin and bear it since the music and characters keep me going through my 1CC attempts, and I'll be the bigger man and say excluding spinoffs I've only seen like 6 Extra stages first-hand because I'm bad.

There's liking it for one aspect like the danmaku, music, or characters, but I wouldn't say that someone who just likes a few superficial aspects appreciates it as a whole.
But people who play the games are generally higher quality fans than something like fumofaggots who only care about plushies and not much else.
