Honestly in case of OP I'm not sure what's contradicting about them.
Saki has always been respectful and praising anyone with strength and Yuuma is described as cautious and perceptive ever since her first game, with her consumed the grudges from the oil being the only offset.
Yachie is the only one that turned 180° and even characters in the game acknowledge that. It's probably has something to do with Zanmu's power and in the end it's just an excuse to have Yachie going around beating people for story mode instead of sitting in the background like she normally would. Zanmu and Yuuma already took the cunning manipulator role anyway.

Rumia unironically has one of the most fascinating characterizations for a youkai in Gensokyo with how un-youkai-like she is, honestly.
She knows her fundamental purpose and the importance of following it, but she genuinely can't be bothered to actually commit to it thanks to how easy it is to mooch off of the general fear of the dark and things that go bump in the night, never mind free physical sustenance from outsiders that are spirited away into Gensokyo.
Thus, it leaves her as a redundant cog in the machine that only turns because the rest of the machine is active and brings her along for the ride, an extra part installed just to make the whole thing look bigger and scarier. Beyond that much, she totally lacks any ambitions or goals since she sees no apparent gain in taking up hobbies or seeking purpose, but it's not really in the sense of having reached enlightenment either, she's just that carefree and somewhat dense.
Hell, even her darkness manipulation seemingly being geared solely towards making life less of an annoyance are reflective of her absence of drive. If she ever did get something to seriously strive for that was worth breaking out of her comfort zone, she probably could turn into a genuinely terrifying force.
