There's simply no reason to play it.

The story is missing pieces left and right, it's like reading a book with missing chapters and torn pages.
The prologue is already a good measure of the quality of the plot. "Sure let's murder my brother in arms to save a random little girl. Oh shit I'm dying after foolshly dashing against an opponet I had to hope to defeat, wait, my soul and that of my descendents to let me live some more years ? Sure why not, I'm such a good guy I'm going to curse my whole bloodline to play hero.".

The gameplay is a mess of AP and chain actions, and it's BORING.
Repetitive isn't a word good enough to explain how mindbreaking boring it is, the same fucking background, the same fucking BGM, the same fucking moves, the same fucking enemies over and over again.

It took centuries and a dude from Platina for anything to actually happen downstairs, and all that really happened was a random distraction that allowed Ayatane to infect Shurelia. MASSIVE FINNEL'S COSMOSPHERE SPOILERS
Not exactly, she looks like a maso, but that's just the way her mind was bent by Ayatane's plan to make her will weak.
The first time you go from lvl 2 to 5 you don't really Paradigm Shift throught her consciousness, it's Finnel that forces them to avoid facing her fears ( see Ruca's lvl2 ), this means neither you or her have clearance for those levels so you can't interact with them. Tepo fixes everything by resetting you back to lvl2. Then you finally start Finnel's true cosmosphere, first of all by making her ragain partial control over it by fusing with Yurishka.
Once you reach lvl7 you finally get the meaning of the eye watching the whole time, that's her being VERY harsh on herself. Constantly judging in a negative way ever her action. You also meet with the true master of Finnel's cosmosphere, another Finnel, more cruel and sadistic, that enjoys seeing the other Finnel in distress, Momoko is THIS Finnel's mind guardian.
The whole Aoto being Finnel's master comes from this, you "kill" this mass of negativity dominating Finnel and take its place as her "master", though at first without that she goes bersek and nearly chokes the shit out of Aoto in the classic EVERYBODY DIE attitude.
Also, if you didn't realize yet, Momoko isn't some kind of sadic side of her, it's actually her Hope, costantly teasing Finnel making her more miserable but saving her in the end.

Besides, there's sex scenes (including gay ones) in other M-rated games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age, and those are more mainstream and made by western developers. But no one has (yet to) bitch about those and they haven't gotten censored. It would be odd and probably hypocritical for them to go apeshit over something that is tame(r) in comparison.
