In japan they send over phillipino workers to japan to work in sleezy clubs
they do this work for the equivalent of 200 dollars a week because of the poor lack of opportunity in the phillipines
they have to drink with the men that go to these bars wake up with a hang over than go back to work as soon as they can
If they miss rehearsals for work they get things thrown at them
now I know they want to take advantage of them being from the phillipines but making somebody do all that for 200 dollars is just cruel
they should get a tleast 350 dollars a week

Let me tell you a little story.

We have minimum wage laws here, like many other countries. However, many people sign under the table contracts to work below min wage (while the company posts that they're still at min wage) because otherwise they would not be hired. If they refuse the offer, sometimes they get blacklisted. If they don't, it would take a long time for them to get another job opportunity again.

It's hard to get a job overseas. But it's still way better than what we can get here, and we have a family to feed (most work overseas to support family). If we complain and lose our jobs, our family suffers, and that is the worst pain of all.

I like being idealistic and all but that is the sad, sad reality. For many, it's better to swallow your pride than starve to death.
