Take the chance to look at the controls since ArmA is a complex game if you are a greenie.

Swap out the .exe's you got in the GOG link with these, don't lose track of them otherwise you won't get a serverlist on the MP screen. Put the old ones in a dump in case you fuck up or want them back for some reason.

Use this keygen to generate an OA key, otherwise the server won't let you join.
If possible, try and pick a random one and not just the first one you see, since the game checks to make sure two people on the same server don't use the same key, and if they do you won't be able to connect without changing it.

It's a good idea to download it a day in advance, since again the mirror sucks. Took one guy like an hour or something just for that.
By telling people this in advace, we can work out issues with it all before I get annoyed at people for assuming they can do it five minutes before.

And yeah, while the OP reads a little like a general, it's just because that's what I wanted to say. Sallyfag bumped the last one off I made on the sunday, and it had fairly important stuff on it so I just made another one to preserve continuity.
My thinking was that it'd be better overall to just deal with the resurfaced accusations of making another general than deal with the loss of all the links, and having them in the OP would mean that no one has an excuse to fuck up and miss them.

Admittedly, had I known that people cared *that much* about not linking back to the last one to maintain the guise of totally not being a general thread, I'd have just not done so.

>Boot up RPCS3, click "Open", then select AC:FA
>Right click on AC:FA, select "Change Custom Configuration" then click on "Network", copy and paste your Radmin VPN IP into the "Bind address"
>Open up Radmin VPN click on "Network", then click on "Join Network", type in the network's name and password.

Originally I worked on GTA and all it's scripts as something anons from /jp/ could do together and have some stupid fun with, since there wasn't really anything like it back then. But times have changed a lot since those days and so have the people. Almost 5 years is a long time! It's hard for me to really justify the effort I used to put in back then when stuff is hosted daily nowadays. There's little point in scripting in new game modes similar to another game for example, when those very same games themselves might be hosted nowadays. And GTA was already kind of being treated like a chat room back then which was something I didn't want it turning into.

There hasn't been a whole to properly stoke my passion for working on it admittedly, BUT I'll see what can be done about the closest holiday. I'll be outside the country through most of October, so I'm not sure about Halloween, so we'll see.

I'd intended to host more regularly since the last anniversary, but I decided against it due to my worsening mood and the fact that I still have about $10,000 in debt of pay off, lest I end up at the bottom of a pond somewhere! All that being said, it makes me happy to see some of you guys still think about the server.

None of the games hosted since come even close to the GTA Touhou server, I liked it because it had a ton of variety, you could do whatever you wanted at your own pace and you could play as every Touhou character. The games hosted these days are FPS or racing games that require your concentration all the time, can't take it ez or else you get left behind and some don't even have anything Touhou at all.

I joined for the first time the last time you hosted, after seeing bits and bobs of the server over the years. Getting to dick around with all you nerds was a sweet experience, and I kind of regret not bothering to take more screenshots or record things.
