/egg/ — Era Games General; also known as “Era games thread”
Era games are a group of (usually) Japanese-developed text porn games.
They’re not exclusively related to the Touhou franchise, but it’s one of the series with the most era games.

▶How to play?
Run anchor.exe (or Emuera, depending on the game), Japanese locale is advised so you don’t run into untranslated text.
If you wish to manually update, delete old files aside the sav and dat folders to avoid any bugs.

▶Tips
If you’d like to either edit or add your own portraits, the files are located within the ‘resources’ folder in webp format. You can use paint.net to edit them.

Pretty good, there's a lot of detail in them and Parsee is a compelling character. Pretty consistent too. The multiple unique mechanics are nice as well, and it's always fun to have characters that either interact with other characters or are aware of the things currently going around them. I keep finding small details and events that I never expect to find.
My only complaints are the swearing and the random foreign language word drops that writers love to put in their foreign characters. But they kind of add personality.
The memery and references might be a turn off for some, but I personally don't mind.

It's a cointoss, sometimes somebody forgets something when pushing changes or something is not tested properly and the release gets buggy. Usually gets fixed in a day or two so no big deal.
Sometimes some changes don't work well and later get reverted, also not a big thing. Usually just keeping backup saves is enough to make sure modding branch is safe to use but I suppose some people just don't want to deal with this and want to wait for stable.

Yeah, that's because they've added deep learning mechanisms into some of them. You can see shit like that most often on DeepL.
The best translators I've found so far are chatgpt (only for sfw unfortunately, now that the anti-jailbreak measures got stricter) and sugoi's local translator. Google translate is always at least decent when everything else fails.

Kaguya's entire yandere line is pretty much the copiest cope imaginable. She's unable to deal with her jealousy over her love being involved with other women, and fears them stealing him away from her so much that she decided to make him immortal, desperately trying to convince herself that the situation is okay because eventually, it'll be just the two of them left. She obviously isn't happy to share her "husband", but only goes along with it because she cannot stop you, so she just tries to show off how much better she is than all those skanks and *tries* to find some enjoyment in her own jealousy, but she'd still vastly prefer it'd just be the two of you.

There's kind of a funny contrast to be found where Mokou becomes a better person through her relationship with the player, while Kaguya just gets worse. She probably would've been better off never falling in love to begin with.

Honestly, you can contribute with as little as just reporting bugs or even typos and/or poorly constructed sentences.
If you wanna do some writing, I suggest taking a look at existing characters and seeing if you can make any sense of it. There's a lot of possible dialogue possibilities, but you don't really need to understand much code if you're just doing text, so with some diligence, you'll probably be able to figure it out enough to work with it. Just play around with it a little and see what happens.

Nothing much, it's just you only have a Pixie worth one Dia or two Zio in your party when you first started, so it's really easy to get wiped out if you don't catch some demons right away, since they can kill you in like ~3 good strikes.
The tutorial dungeon on the other hand allows you to be carried by a level 20+ NPC, while Harajuku (on top of having mostly lv 1-3 demons) provides you with both Thor (LV40) and Ares (LV30) if you play the minigame correctly, which is quite something since you'll most likely obtain an ending or two around level 40-50.

You'll want to look at the general dialogue settings instead, to see if Reimu isn't blocked.

As it turns out, your issue is that you somehow have Reimu set to the old secondary dialogue that has long since been merged into the main dialogue.
To fix it, open the debugger, load your save, and run:
CFLAG:1:口上セレクタ = 0
in the debug window.
That will set it to the proper dialogue and fix Reimu's text.

I wonder, did I mess up my current NG+ run? In eraMegaten, since the eng-release branch wasn't 'up to date' yet at the time, I moved my save to the eng-develop branch. In that eng-develop save, for some reason although she doesn't show up in the list of characters/demons I have nor in any of the Shadow Cathedral listings (fusion or storage), one of my character/demon slots was taken up by a demon named Trish, the same fairy demon that looks after the healing/save point fountains in specific dungeons. I know of this because even if I can't see her, there's a gap to show that the character/demon slot was taken by her (e.g. [125] -> [127]) and if going Next Char via Status, I can go into her page. So a bit of a mystery, but later on when eng-release caught up I moved back to it.

Now that I'm back on eng-release, a few things started happening - for instance, the game immediately errors out when I try to do a 2- or 3-Demon Fusion. Trish no longer shows up nor is her character slot there anymore (so it now goes [125] -> [126]), so I assume it's to do with that. Something about missing '. Other than that, unless it's actually broken (again?) for some reason, when doing the Factory Watchtower Assault request, part of the translated text includes the 'you triggered a bug' dialogue. Chaos Hero's name is also in Japanese for some reason but I don't remember if it was always that way in the previous run.

It's rather about lack of cons that's the main benefit, I think. IIRC you can ask about each option further to learn their prices, or select one to get an "are you sure" prompt. Yukari asks for some expensive sake+cash, Seiga for your max stamina, I think Eirin just wants money and no clue what's Alice's deal. Maybe she'd do it for free but requires a really good friendship?
