/k/ is saying that the katanah is the weakest sword there is, and that is complete bullshit, and I am sure they have never handled a real katanah in their life. they completely ignore the sword's honorable history, razor sharpness, folded steel for strength, and hours upon hours of painstaking craftsmanship by a master Japanese smith, and talk all kinds of shit about shitty european swords that are completely unbalanced sharp chunks of metal when compared to a fine Japanese katanah

>completely unbalanced

European swords had terrific balance, provided they were made by a reliable smith.

Also, cross-board trolling, nobody cares, etc.

True. We view swords based on their combat effectiveness, not all their silly notions that do not contribute to their combat effectiveness. Folded steel, by the way, was a purification issue, because native Japanese iron ore sucked big time; folding became a detriment to material strength when done too much.

>razor sharpness
Is a point in the right direction, but there is only a point to which you can sharpen a blade with non-technical methods. After that, the sharpening implement has to be more durable than the blade it is sharpening.

I am doing fencing. Katana is a great thing for one-on-ones and any kind of fight agains more people(you wouldn't beat three with it though) It's damn hard to handle correctly. It's horrible party weapon.

I also can't imagine someone with Katana beating anyone with Zweihander, not someone with a shield. Kendo and the way Katana's slashes(you can never bend the direction of slash, very stupid) do not allow you to move much, not to mention jump around.

Nevermind the fragments that would still be traveling at lethal speeds that would still hit him and most likely kill him faster since the bullet would be expanded. Stfu, guns win.

Also, this would have the same effect on any other sword.

A good mid-17th Century rapier is lighter, longer, more ergonomic and has a more protective guard than a katana of the same period, and also is double-edged with a sharper piercing, rather than slicing point. I should also think that as a lighter weapon and thus contains less metal means it can be produced more cheaply and in greater quantities, although you'd have to ask a swordsmith.

I was going to comment
"oh wow. I don't like firearms myself but even I'm not that disrespectful towards them."
but then I checked their website. I can't fully agree with their ideological BS but at least they have a reason behind their actions rather than just "acting like asses."
