4410265 No.4410265 [Reply] [Original]

Erika says she avoided getting blood on herself by covering the bodies with a garbage bag and holding a carving knife through the bag
• She used different bags and knives for each person and left them in each room, to avoid getting blood on her clothes or the hallway floors
• Since the police will never come, there’s no problem leaving fingerprints on the bags
• She didn’t have time to cut off Battler’s head, so she sealed up the door instead
Erika: All five of the people I killed… were perfectly alive until the exact moment I killed them.
Until then, they were trying their best to play dead
Especially Maria, who didn’t realize that Rosa was being killed first in the same room as her

Isn't Erika just lovely?

But yeah, holy shit did that scene fly right over my head. One minute Erikas' leaving a room with Hideyoshi, then all of a fucking sudden THE GIRLS' WITCH HUNT, AND SHE'S DANCING AROUND WHILE FUCKING DLANOR APPEARS.

I DIDN'T HAVE A CLUE WHAT WAS GOING ON, BUT IT WAS STILL AWESOME.

So the asshole is content with going back on what he says and changing the direction of a character, just because he wrote the her poorly? As if I needed any more evidence that Umineko is third rate, but still, I wanted some hope at least.

Well for one, it proves that anything that asshole says in interviews is immediately suspect, because while he claimed she was a good girl, she killed five people, and was just generally a total bitch. Simply put, we can't use what comes out of the authors own mouth as evidence to where the story will go, or what to look out for, because he's shown to brazenly lie to us.

Umineko is convoluted enough, we don't need the mediocre author pulling meta-meta-meta-trolling.

Either he's deliberately lying to the fans, or he adjusted the story to make her a more hated character before her departure. There is no in between.

>>4410667
Yeah, supposedly he died after the story was finished for End, which I suppose could explain the inherent grimdark nature of 6, segueing into a sappy, pointless wedding ceremony.

How did he die anyway, if he's Ryukishi's friend, I'd assume he'd be around 30 years old or something.

It would explain why the death of a male friend rent Ryu's soul asunder, that shit just isn't normal.

>> No.4410753

Ryu should have really, really taken some time off, away from Umineko. I mean, he probably wrote Dawn howling into his keyboard. He should have taken a break, and went somewhere to calm down and grieve. Not act all silly and proud because BT 'would have wanted him to continue'. If BT was any friend at all, he'd much rather read something that Ryu wrote to the best of his ability, not when Ryu was some emotional wreck.

Dawn is an episode where you either love, or simply dislike, I don't think I've heard of someone who was ambivalent towards it, like how I am towards Alliance.

A lot of the story events seemed needlessly grimdark.

Did Erika really need to slaughter five people? Even before that, how the hell did Meta-Battler get everyone to resolve their difference long enough to troll an annoying little girl, since that's what mature adults do? Since you can't force a piece to do something against their personality, that apparently means a kakera exists where the murderer decides not to kill anyone, or something.

Zepar and Furfur, really now? The triple marriage event? That just screamed "fangirl pandering."

Thing is, Erika didn't even try to solve the mystery in Episode 6. Her aim the whole time was to trap Battler in a logic error.

Yeah, she's a pretty sore loser.

True. There won't be a happy ending anyhow, so might as well get that out of the way.

>> No.4410844

I remember it got to a point where I skipped everything, bar scenes with Erika and Dlanor. When I finally got to the wedding, I didn't have a clue what Gaap and Dlanor were arguing about. I didn't know why everyone was in the bathroom for such a long time before that. I didn't know why Battler went comatose.
