What is this?

/jp/ has started on a project to translate the visual novel Hatsukoi, one of the highest rated according to the Japanese.

Are you in need of translators?

Of course! Anyone with knowledge of Japanese (and English) is welcome to join in and start translating with the simple and easy-to-use REtrans™ Web Interface.

Are you in need of editors?

Definitely. You don't even need to know Japanese to help improve the English text, so your participation is encouraged.

What is the length/progress/ETA?

The total length of the content is approximately 32k lines. We are slightly over 40% as of this post. At our current rate of ~1 lines a week, we'll finish at the end of June 2374. But the more translators we have, the faster everyone can enjoy the results!

I'm the OP of this thread, but I had something to say about the Hatsukoi translation project and since it didn't look like there were any threads active regarding it I decided to make one.

I was helping to translate this project before but was gone for the past week and just finished reading the threads from when I was gone.

One post particularly caught my eye.

Can we stop all this drama bullshit? Indeed, cudder and lolita are huge assholes that treat the translators like shit, but this project isn't about them. I say we take the scripts to tlwiki or something if retrans sucks so bad, but stopping the project just because of some dumb "manager" would make me sad.

That deadline bullshit isn't a very good strategy cudder, /jp/ doesn't work like that, we like to take it easy etc.

I know we can do better /jp/, I'm just a guy who looks forward to this loli incest VN getting translated, this isn't about cudder or retrans or whatever, this is about fucking your (real) loli imouto.

There are people who have worked on this project and put a lot of effort into it, and I for one hate to see the effort being put to waste by poor management and bad attitude mainly on Cudder's part.

This isn't mormon guy's fault for bad translations. Although I do agree his translations weren't good, the main problem is a lack of initiative and horrible demeanor of a self-proclaimed manager who does nothing to further the project herself. It's a negative and demanding attitude that has caused this problem to come apart and I think that if we want any chance for it to succeed we should keep it together and move this project to somewhere else (I don't know of anything better, some people were suggesting TLWiki) so that we don't have some elitist manager threatening to cut the project. Would there be anyone that can help with getting this project off on the right start again? Any hackers? I'm willing to help translate again and I'm sure if we get the ball rolling again we can get more people. On top of that, if we had a general hub for activity it would stop /jp/ from thinking of this project as a type of spam and raise good support for it as well.

Please understand that this is my personal opinion because I really want this project to succeed, but in the current situation I don't think it has a chance.
Please let me know what you think or if you have any ideas.
