The new pokemon anime is nice for a nihongo jouzu ga nai hito like me.
The plot is simple enough that I can follow without really understanding everything, and I don't really feel like I'm missing out when I don't understand. I just want to see the pokemon animated anyway.
Also they finally got rid of Satoshi and gave us a cutie pie MC instead.
Too bad the Japanese subs are 2 months (5 episodes) behind.

Trying to move to japan while keeping my comfy remote software engineer job that pays an american salary. Is this possible? I speak good enough japanese, my spouse doesn't. We currently both work but I would be okay with them taking a lower paying job or student visa if it means we can move.

Also, if we want to buy a house, should we do that before or after the visa? since it seems legal for foreigners to own property in japan

So after hours of research, I've concluded that Cure Dolly is actually dead.

She is not Marianne Martindale, Mary Guillenmin, or Annalinde Matichei. Those 3 names refer to 1 woman, who lead a bunch of weird kinky cults back in the 80's, but she's not Cure Dolly. Cure Dolly was a member of those cults, and likely a close friend of Ms. Matichei. Both Matichei and Cure Dolly loved Japanese and likely travelled to Japan together, but Matichei has a different voice from Dolly.

mupdf can handle "cbz" (comic book zip) files, that format just being an archive of a bunch of images
it ships a decent viewer for Android, and for Linux zathura provides a plugin that uses it
on W*ndows, Sumatra PDF should have you covered
you can of course deal with some formats in an ad-hoc way
like viewing pdfs in the browser or viewing the contents of a cbz with mpv after unzippingbut
but you'll probably also come across djvu and epub so it's probably best to just find a good document viewer
