▶How to play?
Run anchor.exe (or Emuera, depending on the game), Japanese locale is advised so you don’t run into untranslated text.
If you wish to manually update, delete old files aside the sav and dat folders to avoid any bugs.

If you’d like to either edit or add your own portraits, the files are located within the ‘resources’ folder in webp format. You can use paint.net to edit them.

If the 翌日来訪 CFLAG is set, the character in question will visit and ignore most of the checks (excepting Wakasagihime's need for a pool) in @来訪可能, such as the Lunarian love/yearning check. It doesn't skip the 来訪不能 CFLAG that can be used in a character's FLAGSETTING, but Sagume doesn't use that one. (I'm pretty sure that only Toyohime uses it, and even then, it only prevents her from visiting if she's never met you at all)

So yeah, I dunno why Sagume doesn't want to visit you. Perhaps you just smell bad.

I had some old pops branch Emeura executables kicking around from when I was trying out the different branches after the Pedy meltdown, and this morning my antivirus "identified" them as containing ransomware.

There's no point to generic yandere mechanics because 95% of good yandere content would be dialogue, and that and their associated behavior would be highly character-dependent and varied. Trying to shove it into generic categories would render it all hollow and pointless.

What people *really* want is to write full yandere-focused dialogue sets, which takes into account a character's personality and makes them do various things depending on what's the most appropriate for them, like how Marisa has dialogue that mentions how she steals underwear from your room (though I wouldn't consider that yandere behavior in and out of itself).
Of course, they don't want to actually *write* it, because that would take actual effort. Instead, they want someone else to write it for them, and conveniently have it match exactly to their own tastes.
You really don't need to build a framework first to write content. The existing system is more than capable of allowing very varied behaviors for individual characters, ranging from Sakuya's TSP, to Suwako's curses, to Kaguya's existing yandere plotline. One needs only the will to apply themselves to write the character they want.

I haven't touched eraMegaten since November, but damn do I love this particular QoL change to the Mag Enhancement screen. I can even sort by Mag so that I don't need to sometimes scroll through a few pages of characters anymore, either. Though the power level adjustments broke my old November run (always errors out while trying to adjust for the change in skill slots on one of the characters), at least it wasn't that far into the run so I can re-learn the new changes at the same time.

Too bad they didn't update Gene's in-game portrait with a 'proper' one, but I can still use the old one I cropped previously for her still at least

That's actually a really tough question.
Given the nature of the game, all characters will need large chunks of fanfiction to fill up the gaps (especially since Touhou is virtually sexless), but as far as baseline characterization goes, I think Eiki ranks pretty high. The lectures are a really strong part of her dialogue and feel very true to her canon character, though the casual Friday stuff is just kinda silly.
Akyuu is also pretty good, though her dialogue could probably lean a little more into her less serious actions like the Agatha Chris Q thing or that time with the ghost stories.

A big problem is that many Touhou characters barely have any substantial official material available, other than a handful of lines in a game, and maybe an article in a print work or a manga appearance. And we haven't seen a proper print work since AFiEU, so anything since HSiFS is really sparse.
When you need to extrapolate so much from so little, it's hard to determine when a character is really true to canon, and much easier to point at stuff that clearly contradicts what little official material they have.

You know what, I'll just sum up the core aspects of Yuuka's personality here because why not.
Yuuka is cheery and sociable, confident, smiles often (though people often view it as intimidating), and really, REALLY enjoys rubbing people the wrong way, especially if they think of themselves as being powerful.
If there's one thing that could sum up Yuuka it's that she's a huge tease. Even when she's being helpful like when she's giving advice to Reimu in her PoFV ending, she does so in a roundabout and teasing manner.
Her teasing can involve violence, given that this is Touhou, and others tend to see her actions as being more bullying than reading, but she's not actually sadistic, and once someone gets scared of her and flees, she leaves them be.
She's quintessentially youkai-like to such an extent it becomes charming in its own right (i.e. youkai moe), and acts entirely according to her own whims, unconcerned with what anyone else thinks. She could spend the entire day attending to her flowers, spend some time teasing the shrine maiden, or decide to completely ruin Makai's day, just because she feels like it. It's her unique charm.

TW's Yuuka is honestly just weird to me because she starts out as extremely aloof to the point where she refuses to actually talk to the player until a certain point, and ends up ridiculously mushy to a ridiculous extent, when she should really continue to be a tease even after declaring her love. That's the best part of her, after all.
The only part that feels properly Yuuka-like is the danmaku bets, and even then the reverse rape is too much and takes too much from the nonsense USC fanon.
It's really a shame too, since Yuuka is honestly just such a fun character.

Think about it; Yuuka is one of the most powerful youkai there is, rivalling Yukari in terms of raw power. What's to say she hasn't had enough time to just *do* everything?
She likes fighting, so she's probably fought everyone already before getting bored and moving on to find something else to do, she's probably been everywhere she wants to go, she's intelligent and knowledgeable enough to suggest she's read lots of books (and understood them), the only thing left for her to do that she might take joy in is an eternal task that's totally impossible to actually complete, that being gardening.

There's plenty of really old youkai and gods who are still really active. Yukari is old as shit, but she's obviously invested in Gensokyo's well-being; Kanako is running like twelve different schemes at any given moment; and Eirin probably precedes the invention of shit, and she's repeatedly gotten herself involved in incidents to protect the Lunar Capital, on top of generally being devoted to Kaguya.
I really think that Yuuka's personality is the much bigger factor here.

It's probably a pretty common attitude amongst nature-related youkai in general. Letty is also pretty easygoing and focused on just enjoying herself during winter, and both of them probably have a really good understanding of how the cycle of nature will keep going regardless of what they do. They don't really need to worry about anything.

I personally also don't think Yuuka is quite *that* strong. Her power is top-tier, for sure, but I imagine it's the normal top, and not the ridiculously broken individuals who stand above even them.
My headcanon is that in raw physical and magical strength, Yuuka is about equal to Remilia (and vampires have notoriously high stats in Touhou), but lacking all the other broken stuff vampires have.
In an actual fight, Yuuka's much greater experience and maturity would probably give her the edge over Remilia, though, since the downside of vampirism is supposed to be giving up on the ability to mature and grow as a person.
However, if she were to go up against any of the really bullshit strong characters, like the Big Four of the Oni, the Lunarians, or non-shitter Celestials, I can't see Yuuka facing them in a straight fight. They're just on a completely different tier of bullshit.
I personally like the idea that Yuuka stands out because all her power derives from pure age and experience, and not being born as a broken species or with a broken ability. She's just an extremely ordinary youkai with a silly power who nonetheless obtained enough power to compete with anything but the absolutely most monstrously powerful individuals. Like being the Cirno of plain jane youkai, essentially, except much more competent.

Having played pops' branch before switching to anontw, most of the shit that is "toggleable" leaks in to the main experience anyway in some form.
Guns are still craftable even when toggled off.

Not only were they still craftable, but random encounters still had guns, you still received a gun by meeting Shiki, and modern body armor and weapons were still buyable.

Slut is only used if you either specifically use it as a world generation setting, for a Hatate event (though it's really only used as a means to skip mood requirements), and for Yuuma, who is absolutely intended to be slutty as hell.
It effectively skips all checks and lets the player have sex with them right away, despite being a virtual stranger to them. That's pretty slutty, so while there's no mechanics for it, I'd argue that the implication of them sleeping around is still there and expected.
Obviously, it doesn't really fit in with what most people would want from TW, which is why it isn't obtainable outside of highly specific circumstances and not obtainable normally.
