I can't speak for most people, but it nornally takes some time depending oh how many details you asked for and how busy is the person, but if you're not bugging the artist week, it's usually not a problem to ask him how things are going, unless he got some autism or is a perfectionist, he most likely is doing something else on the side or is just working on your piece. Remember that these things take time.

The mouth looks different, but aside from that, they look the same as far as I can tell. I think it's two different designs of the same base character (named Io Pika). Azone seems to do this a lot from what I've seen.

I want to. I think they're really cute, especially in the ballet outfits. But I'm going to resist for now. I already have 7 big dolls plus a bunch of little ones all over my desk. I'm working on a project using 1/12 scale figures and need very basic clothing (plain t-shirt, pants) but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.
It seems most clothes are designed for 1/6 scale.
I'm not skilled in sewing, but that may be the route I need to take.

1/12 scale clothing would be labelled things like OB11 (obitsu 11cm) and Picconeemo clothing, picconeemo (~14cm) is closer to human proportions and OB11 is more chibi. Azone offers a lot of basic clothing options for picconeemo, you can pick some up on amiami since they usually have a random assortment of things in stock. For OB11 you can pick up some stuff at Parabox. I'd check the measurements of the firgures you're using and see what's closest.

Ugh, I love these and have been lucky enough to see them in person a few times, but the gap between the top torso and the middle area kills me. It's why I can't do DDs either. It's something I was able to look past when I first got into the hobby in 2006 but in the past few years, I've learned about so many other anime-style vinyl doll brands that don't have that issue and it bugs me to no end. They're really beautiful other than that (even more than these photos) which is tragic.

Has anyone here tried non BJD doll clothing for their BJD dolls? I like to go to antique shops or non BJD doll shops to get clothes for them, although the sizing is a little wonky. How do such clothes usually fit Dollfie Dream bodies? I plan on getting Candy and there's a local doll shop with several antique doll outfits that I like, but I'm not sure if a DD can wear them.

I went for a walk, and found a bunch of wildflowers in a clearing. I wasn't able to take a real steady photo because the ground was rocky & my legs were jelly. But I think it still came out nice.

I get it anon, I've been in that position. It was a long time before I could participate, and I thought I never would be able to in all honesty. Suffice to say, things do change, and I'm hopeful they will for you, too. If you want somewhere to start, secondhand Azone Pure Neemo can go for much lower prices on Ebay/AmiAmi/Mercari/Mandarake, if you want somewhere reasonable to start? Parabox also sells small dolls which are much more affordable in comparison to a Dollfie Dream -- and both Pure Neemos and 1/6 Parabox dolls can wear most anything a Blythe can (aside from headwear, because Blythes have massive heads,) which means finding clothing options isn't too tricky. But if not, it's okay to just look, too -- that's what many here do. There's no wrong way to enjoy dolls if you're enjoying dolls.

I want a friend for my doll. And I could do with some advice.
Rather than buy another pre-made one I want to build my own. But I also want her to be cohesive with this Obitsu one, like they "belong" together. The body and the hair I can kind of figure out on my own. I pondered going for a 22 or 26cm body but I suspect that 2cm difference at this scale is going to feel more massive than just a slight height difference (or I could buy several bodies and try, since they're inexpensive).
And I hope I'm not underestimating how hard it will be to find and/or style a wig for whatever head I end up getting.

Anyway, what I care most about is the face. I tried looking through Parabox but I'm not really convinced by the look and shape (maybe because they use different heads?) save for two or three specific iterations of the Petit Hime line.
I tried looking through YAJ out of curiosity back before they blocked all European IPs but I barely got any results when searching for what Obitsu calls this head model, M-01. What should I actually be searching for to get faces that have a similar size and proportions?
Other sites I should look for customs or other shops like Parabox?

A note on eyewells in vinyl dolls: I like them because I hate putty for no good reason but if you want more freedom with eye size you can just cut them off with a sharp craft knife, if you're careful not to go too close to the front you can remove the restrictive material and not damage the faceup.

I don't think it'd hurt her, especially if it was applied on the outside, but just be ready for her to keep smelling like that after you take the clothes off because vinyl absorbs scents. A common thing I've seen is putting a drop on a cotton ball and putting that in the hollow of the torso or something so it's not uncommon though

I was originally going to get a Tinyfox as my starter bjd but most of the dolls that I like are out of stock and won't be back for another 3-6 months. Do you guys think it's worth preordering waiting or should I save up during that time period and get a DD? I've wanted to get into bjds for a long time and have had other dolls in the past; it's a case of if I go cheaper and lower quality now or if I jump straight into a higher quality, more expensive doll right off the bat.

I was in the mountains in a part of the country know for its super low humidity
at that moment though it was raining, then got super hot & muggy, and the mosquitos came out in force
also her Eye Mover was misbehaving again and I couldn't get her right eye to point left, didn't even bother with the left eye lol

I sewed it into a shape to fit the toolchest, hold padding, and have a padded cover flap
many mistakes were made and some dimensions didn't work out (probably mis-cut them)
I'll try again eventually but it works for now
the whole toolchest wasn't practical for carry-on, especially when I already had a half-empty doll-shaped bag I was already bringing for carry-on, so I just used the liner by itself

Yeah, the exposure on that one was way off, and I had already reposed her before checking my work. It was the best of the lot for that pose so I just tried to make it work.
Lydia (short hair) has dream fitters installed, but I've considered eye movers too. The dream fitters are really finicky and have a tendency to shift unexpectedly. I also shift around a lot while shooting, so I try to get the eyes right, but sometimes it's just slightly off.

Thank you, I made the earrings myself. If you're asking about stain protection suits, I have several in different cuts and lengths. I didn't use one for this photo because I wanted to keep the aesthetics as close to bare skin at the beach as possible. The swimsuit is white on the inside and uses white thread, so there's very little stain risk.
