twice when matching i shouldve been more explicit
rule a gives three conditions which define what "match" means and rule b gives a sufficient condition for a match namely a pattern appearing in the same position and states that in this way matches only occur between circles in pairs note however that a circle can form multiple pairs with distinct circles as i describe below
rule b eliminates 2 because 2 would have to match with the circle with a black right slice but it does not since the other match conditions provided by rule a fail 5 on the other hand agrees with the rules since it matches with i) the circle with the net pattern on the left slice and ii) the unmatched circle with the radially diverging pattern on the right slice (observe that we have to invoke the pair condition here since the other two circles with the radial right slice [the ones that also have a black slice] are already matched) and iii) there is no circle with 5s bottom pattern so the conditions are trivially satisfied for that slice

the logic is 100% watertight and rigorous idk why people think 1 or 2 can be correct when it is obvious those options break the rules i invite them to verify for themselves that for every option besides 5 at least one of the slices break the rules and of course 5 satisfies all the rules as i just explained so the puzzle is consistent

yeah but the more words you know the more Japanese you know. once you can understand the majority of anime without subs and only rarely encounter new words, theres hardly anything besides vocab that renders you able or unable to understand the minority of harder anime or novels. grammar is just baby stuff. the worse your memory is the more you have to consume to acquire the same words compared to someone whose memory is better. no matter how much you dislike the fact memory is a part of vocabulary acquisition. also don't forget the beginner phase where you literally have to memorize a bunch of common words to trick baby content into being comprehensible.

i don't think it's impossible, but you need to like what you're doing to reach any proficiency in the language, so you'll have to find something you like and consoom it for a couple odd thousand hours, because that is what it takes
i guess you could use translated media, but at that point, again, why

I think thats only marginally true
at the end of the day its subjective, but I think for the most part you can tell that most studios that take their Japanese voices seriously take their English ones seriously too, even if the Jap is generally better. I think a bit of a Pavlovian response is at play too. I realized I don't dislike the Jap voices because they're "worse" I just don't like the more cutesy direction that the voices tend to lean towards.

No shit all the virgins stopped studying Japanese after becoming sex havers, wasting all your day learning an absurdly hard language just so at the end of the day you can still suck at it compared to native speakers on the off chance that you might move there one day just so you can not know anyone and be completely lonely and have shit social skills in the environment you find yourself both because of the difference in culture but also cause of your lack of grasp on the language but also lack of social skills from all the time spent alone on said life sink of a hobby is insane when compared to the joys of finding someone you can connect with and share whatever normal people hobby people have like traveling or hiking.

Learning Japanese is a hobby for losers that haven't felt the joys of life and have completely given up on trying to obtain them. Losers who one day might realize that the thousands of hours that they lost weren't worth it.
