gallery-dl can download videos from twitter, but you have to be logged in. I wasn't able to use -u and -p to pass in my user and password to log in, but there was an easier way with --cookies-from-browser. If I'm already logged in with a browser, gallery-dl can read my cookies and authenticate itself that way.

The browser I'm using is Falkon, but its based on the Chrome web engine, so it should be similar there. Not sure about firefox
I also use the web inspector to find the highest resolution image on Instagram posts. It might not be the easiest way to get them, but for now that's what I do.
I do the same to rip images out of Kindle books. I'll spam Yui's book when I get my new card.

Thats a shit-ton of unreadable json embedded in that attribute on the okru link, but luckily mpv can handle okru links directly and find the m3u8 itself by calling yt-dlp internally.
/akbg/ has a link to a Taiwanese streamer who uses okru links to share live shows, which is why I know.
The tbs and ntv mov3co m3u8 links have been static so far, so I have them saved in bash aliases, but I suspect that the okru links change every day or so. So we might have to eval that js every time it does

Out of curiosity, what is your Japanese proficiency bros? How much do you understand Weather News? And which casters do you find the most pleasant to listen to?

I remember when I started in 2021, I understood almost nothing. The only things I could get were really simple reactions from the caster, like きれいですね or おいしそう. Now I can understand almost everything, retarded words like 梅雨前線 no longer scare me. Though I still find hard to understand Unozawa san and Morita san, these guys sound like they're making a conscious effort of mumbling as much as possible.

Ayaka is my favorite caster to listen to, although Yui is also quite easy.

I understand maybe at least half of what they're saying. I watched for a year since 2020 until I finally decided to start learning and downloaded the Genki elementary Japanese books off archive.org. Then months later installed a Japanese dictionary once the Kana became easy. Now I feel like I recognize most common kanji. Even if I see a word I dont know, I just use kiten to find it if I already know at least one kanji in it. Overall I feel like I've made decent progress in almost two years, and Japanese media is a lot more fun to watch and listen to now. Watching Japanese subbed videos makes understanding super easy. Those are the most fun to watch.

Ayaka's voice is my favorite and her pronunciation is clear. Yui is pretty easy to understand too. My favorite caster is Nana, but I find her a little hard to understand sometimes. Then this video >>43969165 made me aware that she uses ね a lot where others don't.
Rinon and Gussan are sometimes hard to understand too when they're joking around. They use so many little retorts that you can only learn in casual speech. I really need the Japanese subbed clips for those segments

But at least I can understand about 80% of chat. I barely have to translate it with my dictionary anymore.
Anyways, I try to immerse myself as much as I can in the language by also setting my operating system to use Japanese and using Japanese versions of sites when they're available. If I want to learn something new I often try reading Japanese sites about it first
