no, only those that are frequent enough relatively to the current size of your vocabulary, are such that your brain already seems receptive to learning them, but also aren't very frequent + very obvious (meaning you'd learn them very soon just by reading more).
later when your immersion speed increases you also incorporate this >>43879621 (in the beginning it tends to take too much time to see even a lot of frequent words 2-3 times. unless you read for 5 hours a day every day).
and lastly, you'll probably want to adjust how strict you are with mining on the fly depending on your current new card backlog size.
you must feel all of this out by mining for like half a year. there's no universal formula

Don't do this.
1) They stole all the content from Jay Rubin's book "making sense of japanese" which is far superior.
2) they added a robot female voice to their own voice and it sounds fucking disgusting

Is it really a good idea to learn this? I've been enjoying learning spanish and I've made great progress but Japanese takes 4 or 5 times as long, hmmmm, I really don't know.
>>43879560
It's really one of the only foreign countries I'm actually interested in, although I'm worried what the country will be like in 10 years. Spanish was a safe bet since it'll only be used more and more, but japanese is a bigger investment for a riskier reward.

Also fuck flash cards, if I want to learn a word I don't use a card, I have a sheet of paper and I write out the word and maybe use it in a sentence. Flash cards are aids and the worst way to learn things if you have a pen and paper. On top of that having a fat stack of paper to show how much you've wrote is fun.
I'm also learning a music instrument at the same time because it helps me to de-stress after learning for hours.

>> No.43887861

>>43887843
The sentence you provided is in Japanese. Let's break it down:

1. 今回 (konkai) - This means "this time". It's a noun and subject of the sentence.

2. みてェ (mitee) - This is a slang or colloquial form of the verb 見る (miru) which means "to see". The "てえ" ending is a rough or masculine form of "たい" (tai) which is used to express want or desire. Therefore, "みてえ" would mean something along the lines of "want to see".

3. な (na) - In this context, "な" is used to create a negative form. When combined with the verb it negates the action, therefore "みてえな" translates to "don't want to see".

4. こと (koto) - This is a nominalizer which turns a verb or an adjective into a noun or a noun phrase. In this case, "みてえなこと" would translate to "something I don't want to see".

5. でも (demo) - This is a conditional conjunction meaning "unless" or "if not for".

6. ない (nai) - This is the negative form of the verb ある (aru), which means "to be" or "to exist". In this case, it's used after "でも", forming "でもない", which means "unless it is not" or "unless it does not exist".

7. 限り (kagiri) - This is a noun which in this context functions as a conditional. It means "as long as" or "unless".

Putting it all together, "今回みてェなことでもない限り" could be translated as "Unless it's something I don't want to see this time". The overall sentence structure is a bit rough and colloquial, so it might not be seen in formal written Japanese. It could be used in casual conversation or in media such as manga or anime.

I haven't checked this thread in ages but as always you guys are talking about pointless garbage instead of anything to do with Japanese.
You could be talking about whatever you're currently reading, your recent experiences with Japanese people, whatever things in Japanese culture interest you, whatever you're currently struggling with in Japanese, or all kinds of other things that are on topic or would be potentially beneficial for advancing in Japanese. For extra points you could even be using Japanese to get some extra practice in here.
But no, you guys are arguing over IQ scores - a true sign of a low IQ.

I was only joking before but I'm entirely serious this time: you guys are legitimately never going to make it.
