Does anyone have good face1&face2 bmp for Elona plus?
I'm new to this game and Gimping together items/maps/characters bmp took all of my energy. I just want to finally start playing it, but portaits look like ass.

Is the star cap in Elona 2000? Also something I'm wondering is if it'd be possible to have a higher or no stat cap in Elin. Just really let us go nuts with how high our numbers can go, and possibly raise the bar with how strong the gods are.

Forgot to add, but I think with a higher stat cap we could have more interesting stats for the gods than them sharing the same stat block of everything maxed out. Then they could have more varied stat blocks that better represent their characters as well as strengths and weaknesses. Like the god of magic could have a higher magic stat than his other attributes and such. Could also have the gods have higher or lower stats compared to each other with how they're supposed to compare to each other. If I had to guess I'd say them keeping the stat cap and god stats the same is likely, but I think it'd be interesting to do that differently with a new game engine and everything.

How do spell books work? I read one and it gave me the spell, now I use via the V menu? It says it has "stocks" and a percent chance of working (which is tiny but I literally just read a book and have zero investment on that so I suppose that's okay for now). What's this stock thing? If I run out of stocks will I have to read the book again?
Thanks a lot of the guy who recommended escort, delivery and harvest missions, I'm doing a lot better now. Almost 90k gold but don't really know what to spend it on. I also accumulated a lot of scrolls and books and have no idea what to do with them.

I put 20 hours into a save only for it to get corrupted when the power went out, I didn't make a copy, I've learned my lesson and I'm starting all over but I don't know how to copy a save, can someone tell me where saves are located and how to fix them should they get corrupted again?

Same folder as the game's .exe's located. There will be a folder called "save". Your characters will all be in there. Just copy that and store it somewhere fresh, well ventilated and away from the sun.
If shit happens, you delete the corrupted folder and replace it with the backup you made.

Been trying to get greater evasion but only the mages have it (which is weird). They want me to translate books so I gotta level Literacy for it, in order to level literacy I need to read books and this is gonna take one hell of a while so might as well get something out this, I'm focusing on buffs now but the chance of casting them is tiny (27% for minor healing). What affects cast chance? Is it just the casting skill or do I need something else? I also noticed I don't have casting, so those 27% must be coming from something else, right? Offhand, my advice would be to buy some cheap glass gear and pay a blacksmith to enchant it all to +2. Once you're fully equipped, you could probably do the lowest-tier Hunting jobs.

You've got 90,000 gold, and enhancing an item to +2 is like 500 gold. It's chump change, and a couple of points of enhancement on everything will give you a fairly significant combat boost.

In +, scrolls of inferior material follow a cycle, so it's a waste of scrolls unless they're something close to glass like bamboo or leather:

in theory, but the time and efofrt you sink into one skill wont transfer into the next. if you raise your longsword level to 100 and decide you want to start using axes instead, your axe damage will be infgerior to your sword for a long time, even if the axe you got is much stronger.
ofc if you decide to switch when your sword is at 20 and your axe at 12 the impact won't be much noticable.

thats how i play too, but eventually you learn all skills and you cant hold more than 100 coins so you might as well spend them.
if you didnt inflitrate the 3 guilds, i suggest you gather 60 coins before making a trip for the skills (and ofc scroll of incognito and rod of teleport. you can use the rod of teleport on the guild master beelining towards you to buy time to reach the trainer, get all skills and than read a scroll of escape)

Yeah, the hand slots are for melee and shield. Dual wielding is possible and has it's own associated skill too. If you equip a weapon in one hand and leave the other empty you'll use that one weapon with two hands, there's a skill associated with that too, and gain a damage bonus depending on that skill level.
Claws and tonfas can also be equipped on the hand slots, though they are weapons and give all their bonuses and damage, they level martial arts as if you were fighting bare handed instead.

Press *, it will highlight your target, move it around with the directionals then press enter to select it.
As long as it stays in view you will target it, if it gets away then comes back up again you'll have to aim again.
This is also useful if you really want to minmax in harvest quest, you can see the sizes of the produce without walking up to it.

I'm definitely a fan of magic/mana eye. It's doesn't seem especially useful later on compared to normal attacks later on, but making stuff with high evasion like bats due from negative mp early on is super satisfying.

Using cheat engine to have effectively infinite blessed potions of potential and blessed scrolls of growth after at least getting an initial supply of both to memory edit how much of the I have on the fly. You still have to spam town jobs in the very beginning because you're too weak to do anything else, and they provide valuable training to key skills like Gardening and Faith. But the rewards from higher level dungeons got buffed multiple times, so they catch up to quests in efficiency eventually. You'd probably switch over somewhere at around Act 2, or earlier if you hate quests and love dungeons.

I think it must be a linux related problem then, since i also deleted the game and downloaded it again when i realized i was playing a outdated version.

you can use costume music
if you put the files in elona/user/music and edit musiclist.txt you can use your own mp3 files
