Let me start by saying that I have been an anime fan for 15+ years, so I have seen a lot of anime. Hundreds, maybe thousands. But recently I saw a series that surpassed every single one I have seen, one that may have changed my life.

Now usually I'm not into magical girl shows. Sure, I watched Sailor Moon back in the day so I know what to expect from a magical girl show but nothing could have prepared me for this. Tokyo Crystal Mew. I saw the kawaii character designs and I heard Hideaki Anno was directing so I thought I would go ahead and give it a shot. Wow...just...wow. /a/, you have not lived until you've seen Tokyo Crystal Mew. This isn't your average magical girl show, it is deep and provocative and it really makes you think. I was seriously blown away by Toya's dad's monologue in episode one, when he finished talking I just sat there and stared at my screen in awe. I was deeply affected, and I felt like a new person. Screw Kamina, Toya's dad is the one who really makes me feel like a man who can do anything. He is so badass.

And then there's Chi. Now usually I'm not into bitchy girls but Chi is different. I used to be bullied in high school (hard to believe i know) so I really felt for Cookie in the scene in episode 3, and I didn't like Chi at first but then I realized something. First the lying, then the bullying...Chi is nothing but a trouble individual and I can relate to that. Plus her voice is like an angel's. /a/ I wish Chi could sit by my bedside and sing me to sleep every night. Chi is my waifu. She is beautiful and no one could ever come close to her pure beauty and her amazing voice. Chi is special because she is confident and she stands up to others. She is not afraid to be herself so that's why she wears the furry suit. I respect Chi so much and I am going to marry her and we will have a wonderful life together, I just know it.

If you have not watched Tokyo Crystal Mew you are not a real anime fan.

I have to tell you something Japanator, I think I'm addicted. I am addicted to this ‘anime’-like abortion known as Tokyo Crystal Mew. What is Tokyo Crystal Mew? Well, imagine if you gave a twelve-year-old girl MS Paint, her friends and parents as voice actors, endless amounts of .mp3s, and told her to make an anime. That is Tokyo Crystal Mew in a nutshell; however, we are missing a very important part of the equation. 4chan.

As you might of expected 4chan ate this up; it was violent and bloody ordeal, but in turn made it into something greater than the sum of its parts. They uploaded the videos on NicoNico video, which for those of you who don’t know, is site like youtube where you can leave comments on the video as you watch it. If you have an account on niconico, then I urge you to watch this series there, it’s twenty times better (and by better, I mean more epic lols). Then came the 4chan made fan art and hentai, which I chronicled on your behalf down below. I keep saying Tokyo Crystal Mew had the right idea. Tokyo Mew Mew had the potential to be awesome. Let's look at threatened animals in the Red Data Book:

Giant Gippsland earthworm: 3m long worm that roars while they dig underground, so you're aware there's a 3 meter long worm just under your feet and start running for your life. May or may not be graboids.
Kauai cave wolf spider: What Daredevil would be if he had 8 legs and a venomous bite.
Desert Grassland Whiptail Lizard: An all-female species that reproduce parthenogenetically... except they still retain their mating instricts, so the animals have some sort of lesbian sex to increase ovulation.
Giant weta: 10cm long giant cricket that reacts to any kind of threat by chewing the threat's face off. Including spiders, scorpions, toads and so on.
Southern Cassowary: Feathered, berserk velociraptors that can break riot shields with a single kick.

Give a bunch of girls the traits of those and you have potential for an awesome show. You'd have whiptail lizard lesbian hijinxes, Rider Kick, moe moe Leto II and such.
