I don't know, some abuse stuff is surprisingly well drawn, almost to the point where I feel as though the artist's talents are wasted on Yukkuri stuff in general. That said, some of the ones that I did think of to be the most talented have stopped making Yukkuri stuff seemingly years ago. Maybe they did move on to other things. Either way it was a treat for someone like me who enjoys both sides of Yukkuri art.

I think it's just that abyuse art has generally fallen out of favour. Whether it's because Yuus are just not well received anymore or they moved on or what have you. Yukkuri also seems to fit right into typical moeblob stuff. I think that's why it seems to be a lot of good art is FF (moe) while there's only a couple of good abyuse artists, and why the majority of the abyuse stuff is ms-paint or notebook paper tier scribbling.

Alright. It began with the birth of a young Yukkuri, a Yuka type. Kind of hazy, and the dream was definitely from it's (her?) perspective. Born into a large, expansive, clean and decidedly modern research facility, seemingly specializing in Yukkuri.
All I ever knew was this facility, it never bothered me. Plenty of open-air areas, I knew what sun and sky looked like. Plenty of sweets and protection from Mr. Rain, family surrounding me, I could truly take it easy.
Time passed, I got in a rivalry with a fellow Yukkuri that never went anywhere, I got angry with a researcher for taking something I felt belonged to me, which I refused to let go of even when it never went anywhere either. I was a good Yukkuri.
Time passed, I, as an adult, ended up being separated from my siblings and parents for reasons I never knew... or cared about. I could still take it easy, and did so. Plenty of fellow Yukkuri to socialize with.
Then, one day... another thing got taken from me. I decided that was that and escaped my enclosure, deciding to go hunt for it.
I snuck out and stealthed around, at least thinking none of the Mr. Humans knew where I was, or that they even noticed my absence.
This part doesn't end well. I made an ill advised jump, escaping the facility(for whatever reason)... and fell onto a rocky beach.
Pain.

Filling everywhere, pain beyond what I knew and understood was possible. I cried out, still alive.. and was heard. Thankfully not by a predator, but by facility staff... Whatever the case may be, I survived, older and wiser, and somehow unscarred, still able to take it easy. Or maybe not, because it gets weirder after this...
There was a strange shift. From nominally Touhou to nominally Pokemon instead. From a Yuka yukkuri to a Kirlia yukkuri. Plus the facility became Oak's lab, for whatever reason.
Either way, by this point, I had gotten old for a Yukkuri. More intelligent and wise... by Yukkuri standards, at least. Oak himself had taken a fondness for me, and I was closer to his pet by now then a research subject. A conceit of this is that while poke-yukkuri can 'evolve', they can't use items to do so. They're still fascinated by relevant items, however, so this next bit is presaged by me playing with a Dawn Stone.
I stared into it's vertices, fascinated deeply. It felt like I was being sucked into it, knowledge and equations flitting by. I observed them, not understanding them, but finding it all interesting nonetheless.
And then, much to Oak's great interest, I eventually came to and realized that... something... had happened involving the Dawn Stone. Like I had fused with it or something, not quite evolving, something completely unprecedented.

My form was more... humanoid, for lack of a better term. Not truly Gallade-like, nor Gardevoir. Like a strange human, as if formed from crystal... or a Dawn Stone. I gained actual psychic powers and a boost to intelligence... to the point of a ditzy, dumb as a post, gullible human. Also had an enormous, but contained, bust for unclear reasons. But there was no time to be studied, which I knew I would submit to willingly.
A crisis was afoot. A researcher had gone rogue, and for dream reasons I had been asked to apprehend him with my new powers, as well as calm the yukkuri and make sure none are missing.. I agreed in a heartbeat, following Oak's will. I knew the facility pretty well at this point, and went through it with great athleticism, albeit not in a human sort of fashion. There were a lot of visitors, and I passed them all without acknowledging them. I knew they were all wondering what the absolute fuck just passed them, though. I was still dumb as a post, though... but just smart enough to find a phone and call Oak when I forgot my objectives.
I found the rogue making his escape, got in close, wrapped my arms around his waist, and pulled him up into the air! ... Or tried, at least. I wasn't strong enough to even budge a scrawny, middle-aged man. And while I was tougher then before... a punch to my face from this weak man was enough to massively crack and dent my face. I tried to pull away and got another crunching punch for my efforts. Brittle.
I wasn't out yet, even as I lay groaning on the floor. I suddenly remembered my psychic powers, and was able to use that to just sort of... subdue him. Lift him into the air with that. I trooped him back to Oak, the visitors rather alarmed, and entirely forgot my other objective.

Success!

After that the dream petered out, the last bit I remember was Oak studying me with great interest, his grandson crushing on me (with me being oblivious to the point of stupidity, naturally), and the professor talking about me on his radio show.

The end, I hope it was interesting!

Lack of overlapping interest. Yukkuri are already a niche in a niche. Reimu and Marisa are the default yukkuri if a creator is satisfied with any yukkuri or the common depiction. It seems like Yukkuri Diary is the only game with any amount of content. SimYukkuri is boring as hell.

And even then, there's hardly anything to do with Yukkuri Diary unless you're an abyuser.... I wish you could do more than just pet and feed them. Plus they have the shithead variants with the drooling mouths, but they don't act any different.

I looked at some the notes blue snow put up on for the latest Yukkuri Diary patch and it seems like there probably won't be any new additions to Yukkuri Diary.

It really sucks because of how a certain part of the Yukkuri community is, no one wants to spend any time enjoying it because they'll eventually see art of someone shoving a hot poker up a Yuu's ass or something. So we can't get any really cute stuff to come out of this, despite the opportunities.

>I'll have to work on a Yukkuri text bot myself.
In the end I decided to go through the wiki entry for every OYP tag and compile it into a 'lorebook' (context file for chat ai frontends) and it's almost ready for testing. I just wanted anons to double check my shortlist of 'core, important yukkuri' that I will probably give longer entries than say, Wriggle. Anyway, at the moment I have:
Alice(+Raper), Aya(+Kimeemaru), Chen, Flandre, Marisa(+Aquatic, Shell, Kotatsu), Meiling, Momiji, Nitori, Patchouli, Ran, Reimu(+Wasa), Remilia, Sakuya, Youmu, Yuuka(+Noukarin), Yuyuko (for Youmu)
plus any uneasy variants (Deibu etc.). Some only got on that list because of type relations (Sakuya).
Anyway, am I missing anything critical? I'll still do entries for as many yus I can find details for beyond 'They look like the touhou girl' but lower priority.
