▶How to play?
Run anchor.exe (or Emuera, depending on the game), Japanese locale is advised so you don’t run into untranslated text.
If you wish to manually update, delete old files aside the sav and dat folders to avoid any bugs.

▶Tips
If you’d like to either edit or add your own portraits, the files are located within the ‘resources’ folder in webp format. You can use paint.net to edit them.

I don't think ZUN ever gave a canon list of which girls are virgins or non-virgins, so it's impossible to go by canon when determining all the virgins in Gensokyo. There are a few non-virgins that come to mind, like Suwako and Junko, but who is to say that there aren't more? If you wanted to go by canon standards, you would have to guess the virginity status of 90% of the girls because they aren't expanded on in any canon material whatsoever. Reading through the weapon skill changes. It's not actually as bad as anon made it sound. It's only a few of the weapons that require no MP, mostly just the 3 kingdoms ones and Gungnir. The remake was what led me to fully give up on Atlus. I unironically really liked how restrictive SJ was with its protagonist and how it put all the focus on the monster collection parts instead.
The game's main aesthetic was about being thrown in a world that's completely hostile towards you and simply wants you dead, and the gameplay consistently reinforced that feeling, so you had some good tools to help you such as apps and equipment from quests, but you really had to make choices and decide what would be the most useful for you at the time, and work on building up your demons, instead of just receiving constant power ups that turn your main guy into a powerhouse without downsides.
It's fun to be a weak guy who really struggles constantly (though the game really isn't that hard) and needs to work hard and use all the means available to him to destroy the Schwarzwelt.

Not really. They're all kind of washed out in colors, the facial features are the very worst of bland sanded down AI cum sputters. The actual obvious reason for this is that because they're popular, they were among the first characters to get dialogue. That means their dialogue is based on early TW (missing lots of commands and scenarios that came later) and might have even been based on ports from earlier era games. Then once they had dialogue, no one else wanted to make a new one because they were "taken" and japs are too polite to fix someone else's shitty dialogue.

Though, it should be possible to have that toggleable, obviously, in case you do want to danmaku someone on your own or clean for the reliability gains.
