Why is Fate/Zero so much better than Fate/Stay Night? Urobochi Gen? No IDEALS? No generic Boy meets Girl?

>> No.4339655

Because Nasu came up with the idea and had someone else write it. Plus, no women and children.

>> No.4339662

Because Kiritsugu.

Because Diarmuid.

Because Alexander.

Kiritsugu is nice, but Diarmuid is weak and Alexander is homolust.

Probably because the main character wasn't a bowl of dicks?

Fixed.

Why is there so little Alexander x Waver-shota?

I swear, Nitro+ is making me turn gay, and I'm not even Japanese enough to understand their Chiral games.

But I wouldn't say that to his face.

There wasn't as much "gotta save everyone" and the romance aspect coupled with your future self having grown a brain at the worst possible time - those kinda took away from FSN. Zero = get shit done

Streamlined story, concentrated awesome(minimal slice of life, no break of pace to view LARGE train of thoughts) , better narration (third person helps) and less problems in writing.
Plus, since it does not focus on the viewpoint of one character, less chance of him ruining it for you if you do not like him or his thought process.
Finally, focus on action gives it a better feel 'for a grail war)
Good characters and good basic plot in an expanded familiar we are mostly knowledgeable with(thus spared some exposition) helps.

Well, Fate/strange fake DOES take place 10 years after Fate/stay night, meaning 15 years after Fate/zero, and people can change a lot in 15 years, so...

More like TYPO-MOON

Urobuchi Gen's stories are more darker, edgier, and more on the insane side of psychologically (whilst Nasu does write about insanity, but on a slightly different frequency)

If you love Nitro+ works, then there's no question on why you like Fate/Zero.

I personally like both Nasu and Urobuchi.

Nasu gives me the whole "hmm that was pretty deep and heroic" feeling
Urobuchi gives me the whole "DEAR FUCKING GOD THAT WAS AWESOME"

inb4 ">>pretty deep"

Fate/Stay Night is 10 years after Fate/Zero.

>> No.4339853

>>4339837
Woops, you're right. Then Fate/strange fake is 5 years after F/sn, unless I'm wrong about the 5/10 thing as well and it's actually 10 years after F/sn, in which case Waver would be 20 years older.

OP here. I've only read Saya no Uta by Gen, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and I loved both Tsukihime and Kara no Kyoukai, so I guess that I do like both. The thing is that Fate/Zero gives me a different feel than that of Saya. When I read Fate/Zero it is like I'm reading Nasu's text told by Urobochi, something like that. The plot feels Nasu-ish but the writing does not.

>> No.4339906

>Why is F/Z so much better than F/SN?

Nasu comes up with some neato concepts but is poor at executing them.

Not as much repetitive exposition and internal monologues.

Don't get me wrong, I liked all that, but it's easier to get into stories that aren't drowning in that kind of stuff. Fate/Zero is kind of to the point, while it feels like Fate/Stay Night is trying to bloat itself.

>> No.4340020

>>4339857

You should try out Kikokugai (also by Urobuchi). Translation was just released, and it has the same translator as Saya no Uta, so you will get some consistency.

Truth be told, though I did mention that Fate/Zero is darker and such. I do still need to formally read it. This thread has reminded to do such.

>> No.4340043

>>4340020
I've already downloaded Kikokugai. Just did not have the time to read it yet.
