Really, I'll feel sorry for any of the PvP viable PoFV characters that don't make. People have but so many hours into playing Marisa, Reimu, Youmu, Eiki, and Komachi that they have become synonymous with PoFV, and people will inevitably be sad if their favorite isn't in the sequel.

I think the only realistic way is that one person does most of the job. By most, I mean essentially all of the work. When they are almost done, if it's a comic, they could then ask anons for guest illustrations to pad the page count. Or if its a game, they could ask people to compose music, etc. Once the work is psrt a certain point, it becomes easier to convince others with talent that their contribution won't be wasted.
It limits the nature of the collaboration to things that requires less coordination, but it'd work.
A similar idea would be that someone just signs up as a vendor, and sells prints/stickers/pins etc that people here have designed or made. It makes each contribution self-contained so its easy to join in.

What you suggested would also work, but it wouldn't really be a /jp/ collab, more like a collab by people that meet up on /jp/.

So far I've had a lot of fun playing it. It's not too difficult, and I find the game very visually pleasing for some reason. I think it's due to the stages taking the entire screen instead of having usual score/lifes/bombs/ect panel on the right. Those new ZUN character art look good as well.

II like the dialogues not automatically skipping to the next line after a few seconds. Allows me to take my time reading them, searching for words I don't know.

Intelligence of Beast: One of the best title themes, so that's a good start.

The World is Made From Cuteness: Very cute indeed. Not what I would have expected for a Reimu theme, but it's catchy and I'm not getting tired of it after multiple playthrough. So far it's my favorite one from this game apart from the title theme.

Magical Beast Scramble: Not a big fan of this one, it's ok. Maybe it will grow on me over time.

The three others are arranges of very good existing theme, but I still vastly prefer their original version. While the melodies are the same, I think they make them sound flatter, less memorable.

Apparently, Reimu's gonna head for the animal spirits next while Marisa aiming for the "real" culprit as she suspects "unknown magic" to be involved. Given the makai fairies in the code, the next location could be makai. Although, eastern folklore has magic associated with foxes so Tsukasa might end up being the mastermind. I wonder if we'll get different final bosses.
Another thing of note, Aunn's dialogue with Raymoo implies she'll get tricked by the beasts again.
