I stopped feeling boredom somewhere at the age of 12.
If time stopped now (but computers magically kept working) then I'd have stuff to do for a good 20 years or so.

I have so many books to read, anime, movies and series to watch, games that I'm never going to finish...
And I've always wanted to learn how to draw properly, get better in 3d modeling, learn how to play an instrument, get better at programming and so on...

If you're bored you're just wasting your precious time. A single human life is not enough for all the awesome things out there.

That's called self-pity. You can also call it depression, but that can be deceiving since you most likely don't have an actual mental illness, just being a coward.

You know, your brain can do some quite amazing things. If you tell yourself enough times that you suck and nothing can be fun and interesting for you then it eventually becomes true, and you actually start to feel like that.

No one in this world but you has the power to make you happy, sad, bored or have fun. You can either drown yourself in self-hate or find something that interests you. Of course, you'll obviously won't enjoy doing anything if you start doing it while constantly telling yourself that it's going to suck anyway, so why bother.

But, I agree with the other part. I usually try being optimistic and consider myself a relatively happy and mentally balanced person. But, I don't give a shit about accomplishing anything with my life or leaving something behind.

For me, the reason is completely selfish: accomplishing something takes a lot of effort. Effort that I could use to make my life more fun.
I study and work only so I can fund my hobbies. I don't care about starting a family or bullshit like "making the world a better place".

I get that occasionally. Mostly when playing vidya at 3 am when I have exam 5 hours later.

Jokes aside, the only thing I can tell you is that everyone makes mistakes, because we are human. I don't know if you're the same guy who flunked high school, but I can assure you that most people do far more horrible things sometime during their lives.

So what horrible thing have you done that forbids you from ever having fun again? Would you ever forgive that for a friend or a family member? If so, it's time to forgive yourself. You learned your lesson, and the price was high. But there's nothing that can't be fixed. Time to move on, instead of spending the rest of your life punishing yourself.
