PoDD is possibly the worst game for ZUN stealing stuff from others.
I mean, you can't really blame him, back then it was just a buncha guys churning out a handful of games for the hell of it, and for a little beer money.
All the rest are mostly free from it really, unless you count Yuuka's obsession with red and her specific pattern of plaid ripped off from like two other works to be enough to cause copyright issues.

He tried to steer her away from her mother's course, but it failed due to the mana flowing through her, and she ditched him when Mima offered her an apprenticeship position, and Marisa accepted unknowing of their relationship

It's consistent with what we know, it has a little subversion, it explains Kirisame's dislike of magic and Marisa's abandonment, that's more than some of them do.

I refuse to believe it took this long for ZUN to recognize Flan's ubermassive popularity. Her remixes are everywhere and she's constantly on top of popularity poll.
I use these examples because BeatMario must've shoehorned ZUN a lot with meme remixes and he's been present for Touhou popularity poll on live stream, instead of the amount of fanarts/doujin which ZUN wouldn't bother to check.
