you're never gonna get a consensus on this question here. when i was very shit i was pausing a lot, looking up all the words i didnt know but if i couldnt get the sentence within 30-40 seconds id just toggle to english subs and move on. mostly did that so i wouldnt miss whats going on in the story though. worked out fine for me in the end.
