mv flan is one of if not the best tanks in the game, it's just that this game doesnt need tanks for much.

her biggest flaw is that she focuses on star, but star is one of the most oversaturated elements at this point. she could have carved a niche if she had sun or earth focused breaks.

the other 2 good tanks (E1 meiling and B5 reisen) also have star last words, but they have much better killers. just strange how they keep making the higher rarity defense units have a star element kit.

If you want to know, the only way Flan has to recover any barriers is by using her single target spells. It seems like Flan isn't supposed to actually use her barriers and instead to cover herself entirely in burn status at all time while tanking damage with her damage reduction passive and passive health recovery every turn.

Anni SDM is a support type card that can be put on everyone as it's debuffs which means it's applied to everyone.

It's good in certain challenging content cases, like in the arena, when her damage isn't enough for a single target. The miko Kasen card is my usual choice for her LW, and otherwise it's either SP or yin/crit boosts.

Lock removal might not remove the right locks if there were multiple.

Yeah, getting consistent setups is pretty annoying which is why being able to just clear the VS spirits once for the card is a godsend.
Though if you need to farm it then the same issue applies.
If you're desperate, you can try silver incense to see if it pushes it through enough to make it consistent.

You get 5 copies if you just beat 120 which should probably be your goal unless you really struggle getting to 100.
That said 100 has the best chances for the card. They're still abysmal.
If you got a random drop, then you only need 1 more copy so just try to set up the easiest 110 you can for yourself.

You're guaranteed an MLB copy per divergent stage if you make it to level 120, so worrying about sp for these stages isnt a problem unless youre sadistic enough to farm more copies of the stage's card at a whopping .3% drop rate.

I keep a bunch of the older characters at 1 star to grind the hundreds of event points that are needed in every jap event. Some of them are also still in the auto-replays of story card farming. Still have Yuuka at 1 star for now too. Also rare 3 star Marisa in the corner from the super early days of the game when no one had any idea what to do and upgraded random characters a bit to see what happens.

A6 Yuuka is kinda anachronistic, seeing as she has a skirt but green eyes, meaning she can't be from the hypothetical A4 or A5 universe, even if they were ballsy enough to bring back Mimasama our beloved , but A6 is a dumb move, seeing as lolice was also an A6, despite obviously being the PC98 version, and *not appearing in EoSD*
I guess you can make the argument that these people should exist in the EoSD universe, but it's lazy and ignores the meta argument that A6 is a throwback to a specific design from a specific game.

The main issue is that ZUN has shoved his first 5 games into the foster home that is not being relevant. He doesn't talk about them, and brushes off their relevance whenever he does.
It would be damn near impossible from a writing perspective (not to say that they really put in much effort, it's so mediocre that I stopped caring a few months in), and it's not really popular enough that they could make money from it even if they did try. Only a few people would be interested in any of the PC98 characters, probably just Elly, Mima and maybe Kurumi or one of the 'Tsu sisters, assuming they even got that far. LLS is the most robust in terms of character likeability, MS only really has Alice, Yumeko and Shinki, and that's kinda being generous, SoEW and HRTP don't count, and PoDD would be a NIGHTMARE to string together.
TL/DR, PC98 isn't popular enough to warrant the investment that grining them back "properly" would bring, and remains on the niche end of Touhou in general, far removed from the reddit memes and the discord fumos.

PS: How long has that art of Mima been leaked for? Do you think they comissioned it in case they just wanted to be sure they could do *something* with it if it came down to it? or did they put it in there intentionally to bring speculation?

Anon that's about half of all 2hu games, even EoSD which was just "red mist everywhere, go beat a nigga up."
But other than that the writing aspect might not even be needed, given that the Extra story of the Main story introduces retro units as just "spirits that have aspects of the 2hu from that one particular game at that time are now in this dimension, go beat them up," so it could be as simple as that but with a companion real 2hu saying something like "wow haven't seen them before/in a long while."
The art was in the JP Tower back in October of 2022, she was shadowed out but the un-shadowed version was datamined out.

To be fair, red mist is a little more interesting than youkai just *being* at the shrine causing trouble.
On top of that, I tend to view EoSD as a transition between windows and PC98. they play pretty similar, and both lack the focus ball and rely a lot more on macrododging than the future games do/did.
I have to admit, I didn't get round to playing any of the extra stages, so I might do that when I get bored of what I do normally, so I actually don't know what happens in them cause I just assumed they weren't important (To the story, which I was right on I guess)
I was about to say something on that being pretty lazy, but yeah that's about on point. LW really needs to get some better writers, they haven't realized that there are fuck all touhou players who aren't at least 18. Not saying they should put in fanservice or porn, but the story can get a little sickeningly moe even for my tastes.

The extra story will take you some time to complete because you can only do 3 stages per day, which is rather annoying considering that the first part before the retro 2hus come in has fuckloads of stages and little to no story. But yeah they need some new writers, there's some interesting concepts but not much is actually explained and is instead glossed over with lol funny. Not sure if that's just me being retarded though, the most I got from the beach thing is that Genso flooded, everyone moved to formerly-youkai-mountain because it was high up and eventually it all became a beach resort, but they're also being watched like a zoo by lunarians who came in to take advantage of the flooding so they can have a better water supply? I think the 3 a day thing ended up discouraging me from actually doing it, as well as that by the time I remembered about it, I already had like lv 80 units that can wipe the floor with the mid to early stages solo, and if I wanted to play more stages with them to level them up further, I would have to play them more than just 3 times.

Another thing, the games does have an issue with some units just being useless, or only situationally useful.
Take L1 marisa for example. I don't know about you, but in the first few weeks of the game, she 100% carried me to Hakgyukoro (?) without too much effort on my part. Once I actually got to (Nigga Youmu's chapter), she rapidly dropped off in utility, primarily because she lacks the all-targeting attacks that say, Youmu has, and doesn't have the raw damage output to kill enemies with just one focus shot or whatever.
And that's not even mentioning Reimu, who even at *the start of the game* I recognized as being flat out worse than everyone else in combat, and her being relegated to the back of the roster. To this day, I have not touched her upgrade screen once.
What I'm trying to say, is that certain units just suck so bad that they are pretty much discarded on arrival, unless they're someone's waifu, or because the player in question is too naive to realize how bad they are. There are a few who just... don't have good stats, full stop, and the game is now just a race to the meta, with a gacha wheel determining how close you can get at a time.

The massive difference in power between units is actually fucking laughable due to how big it is, just look at A6 Dai and White Koishi, the gap is humongous.

Their standards aren't consistent though. Global will shit on L80 Kanako for "bad utility" while they'll put B3 reimu above her despite B3 reimu having shit utility for the team.

They also have a history of overvaluing units when their banner is up, then demoting the unit once their banner ends. We saw this happen with B3 seiran, who was SS tier during her banner then subsequently demoted to S+ tier after her banner ended.

This might be old outdated stuff, but I remember it as 1 lvl being 30% damage up.
So 1 yang atk up is 30%, 3 yang atk up is 90%
But obviously 130% -> 190% is only an increase of 46% despite being 3 times the yang levels so you hit diminishing returns pretty fast.
Lv10 yang/yin up is 400% damage iirc.
Yin/Yang atk buffs and Yin/Yang defence debuffs stack multiplicatively.
The crit related buffs stack additively.
Bullet type based buffs also stack multiplicatively with all the other buffs since they're at the end of the formula, or at least that's how I imagine it.
1 thing to remember though, a fullbreak removes all debuffs and set them to take a flat 300% (400%?) increased damage.
Something to be aware of and was one of the pain points when Summer Heca got revealed.
