ITT Useless special abilities in Touhou

Yuka gets my vote despite being one of the more powerful youkai in Gensokyo. Manipulation of flowers. What the fuck. There is no possible way there is a special ability more useless than this.

The ability to manipulate flowers consists of being able to make flowers bloom, shift the face of sunflowers towards the sun, or make withered flowers bloom again and such.

If there's anything to be learned in the Touhou universe, it's that a character's strength is not dictated by their powers, but their fighting skills and how they use it.

When everyone and their grandmother can fly, the bragging rights tend to end. In that same right, there are only two Gensokyo residents who have almost never been shown flying (canon and fanon): Rinnosuke and Akyu. Additionally, it is rare to see Tewi, Momiji, Nitori, and Komachi flying.

On the other hand, Reimu's power is actually said to be a bit more elaborate than just being "able to fly;" however, she's never developed it any further and thus all she does is fly with it.

Also, wings on youkai are typically redundant.

Just because they're stronger doesn't necessarily mean they can fly. Even in folklore strong humans were able to face off against youkai who could fly and still win out.

They're mostly the descendants of great youkai exterminators of the past, with a bit of outsider stock integrating over the years, so I'd imagine that. Whether they can all fly or are all eligible of flight is qustionable; wouldn't that make them all equivalent to untrained "ordinary witches?"

On the other hand, your average youkai is a normal fairy. There seem to be fairies of everything in Gensokyo - seasons, attributes, trees, rocks, mud, Daiyousei ...
