How would you feel if /jp/ got separated into:

/vn/ - Visual Novels
/to/ - Touhou
/ryu/ - Ryukishi 07
/jp/ - Japanese culture/idols

Would it bother you to have more than one board open?

>> No.4291297

not sure if want.

>> No.4291301

it should be /th/, not /to/. also, /ryu/ is unneeded and would turn into a street fighter board.

>> No.4291305

All of them will be as slow as hell.

how about just

/dj/ Doujin Soft and Visual Novels
and
/jp/ Japanese culture/idols

>> No.4291327

Ryu is unnecessary, it would turn into a Shkanontrice vs Jessitrice vs Moon-chan board in like 3 seconds
also there's not that much material to debate
also higurashi, complains about MG, ookamikakushi anime
it's not really worth

Well, I asked this because that's how the boards on iichan.ru are separated, and they actually believe that they are better than our /jp/, even though each of their boards only gets like 20 posts a day.

>> No.4291338

Yes it would.

What I want is /jp/ to be just renamed "2D/General".

It would discourage clueless newcomers from posting about unrelated Japanese topics, and open up discussion for a bit of /a/-related topics without losing /jp/'s original content or focus. There would also be none of that work-safe nonsense.

I would be sad. /jp/ is my family and very important to me. Families don't always share interests, but there's always something more important that connects them.

It's probably love for Marisa, that slut.

While I wouldn't mind to prune ourselves away from the 3D fags, I don't like to have our board topics narrowed anymore than they already are. I know that's where we pretty much are already, but the freedom to occasionally talk about characters from a mainline series seems welcome.

This the main reason OPs idea is terrible. That and visual novels alone won't make for a very active board, they work rather nicely spaced out by other discussions for when there isn't much going on.

/jp/ - Traditional Japanese culture/living in Japan (no /int/ shit, the board is a flamefest and there is a much larger interest in Japan than in Tuvalu [read: random countries])
